King Charles III and other members of the Royal Family are quietly rooting for Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, and the reason for their backing is quite surprising.
This week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attempted to break the internet by posting a video on the former actress’s official Instagram page.
The video was a wild and completely unexpected move from the couple, leaving everyone in a state of surprise.
It featured Markle heavily pregnant with Princess Lilibet in a hospital room accompanied by Prince Harry.
The video was filmed a week after Lilibet‘s due date, and Markle was resorting to all sorts of unconventional methods to induce labor.
After acupuncture and spicy food failed, Markle opted for a rather unexpected solution — twerking. She was seen shaking her booty and dropping it low, all in the hopes of inducing labor, a method that has sparked a fiery debate among royal commentators and the public.
The video garnered over 25 million views, shedding a new and rather negative light on the Sussex couple.
Many royal commentators slammed the pair for their crude and unroyal behavior.
Richard Eden, the Daily Mail’s Diary editor, asked what if Catherine, Princess of Wales, twerked in a video.
Eden added the following about the cringeworthy and undignified video: “It’s just so unusual. It’s not what you expect to see from members of the Royal Family. If the Princess of Wales ever posts a video like this, I’m giving up royal commentary altogether. What is important to the Royal Family is dignity. I think you do have to maintain some dignity and decorum.”
Eden also inquired about the fate of dignity and, unfortunately, mentioned the name of Donald Trump, who is known for disregarding every decorum and protocol in politics.
He claimed: “Yes, that might sound a bit stuffy or whatever, but what are the Royals for? Originally, they were there to lead us into battle; they’re there to represent us, so you expect some dignity. It would be the same for an American President. I don’t want to see videos of Donald Trump twerking in the same way I don’t want to see members of the Royal Family twerking.”
According to royal historian Dr. Tessa Dunlop, the video was something people would once have never expected from a royal family member.
Dunlop, who forgot the many toe-curling royal scandals in past decades, told the Mirror: “Nothing is out of bounds as long as she controls the clicks.”
A well-placed royal source told the Daily Mail that some members of the Royal Family believed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had lost their way.
The insider stated: “There is a general sense [in the Palace] that they have lost it.” But one high-ranking member of the Royal Family is rooting for Prince Harry and Markle to do what it takes to remain financially independent — King Charles III.
His Majesty, who has a few scandals under his belt, will certainly never ask for an encore performance of Markle’s dance moves. But he is not the slightest bothered by the viral video because he knows that this is the way Prince Harry and Markle remain in the headlines and sell whatever they are selling.
King Charles is also fully aware that if the renegade royals continue to achieve their success, there will be no need for Meghan Markle to write a memoir, à la Spare, or sit down for bombshell tell-all interviews.
King Charles, 76, battling cancer, believes that the pair should do whatever they want and deem necessary to maintain their luxurious lifestyle and pay for their security without selling Royal Family secrets or disturbing his well-being.
