Meghan Markle, like many others, took to Instagram over the weekend to celebrate Father’s Day.
The former actress delighted her backers and even some of her foes with a series of never-before-seen photos of Prince Harry spending time and creating memories with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The montage features Prince Harry holding his children when they were infants and having fun with them on walks, on the beach, riding bikes, or playing in the grass.
Markle penned this short and sweet message for her spouse: “The best. Happy Father’s Day to our favorite guy đź’•.”
The public’s reaction was mixed, with some praising the glimpse into Meghan‘s family life and others criticizing her for not acknowledging her father’s plea for reconciliation.
Mrs. Sussex was reminded that she has a father living somewhere in Asia, and he is in poor health and is begging to make peace with her.
This father, Thomas Markle, has been a controversial figure in her life, often making public statements about their relationship in her childhood.Â
However, their relationship has been strained for about 8 years, with Thomas frequently speaking to the media about his desire to reconcile, a behavior that has further distanced them.
Prince Harry’s wife faced harsh criticism for not reaching out to the man who played a significant role in her life, contributing to her upbringing and education.
Thomas Markle, 80, has had many health issues, including a stroke in the past years. He resided in a small town in Mexico, but due to his health concerns and a desire for a fresh start, he has expressed a wish to relocate to a more peaceful and friendly country.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Mr. Markle confessed: “I am ready for a change. I have felt stuck in a rut for some time, and I am ready to meet new people and experience kindness.”
He also attempted to connect with his daughter by saying that he hopes it will be possible to reunite one day:Â “I’m not running away. I am going in search of a more positive life. Every day, I see something about Meghan. This week it has been the new TV show. I wish her no ill will. My dream is that one day I could bring my whole family together, like a ‘normal’ family. The British people have been so kind to me. I’d like to thank them for their support and kindness. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the kind people of the UK.”
Mr Markle, while imperfect and troublesome, has tried to make amends and begged to see his daughter and finally meet his grandchildren, but Meghan has made it clear she is done with him for good.
