Meghan Markle is dancing straight to Disneyland and frolicking on a gorgeous beach, spreading her business wings after an unconventional win.
In honor of Princess Lilibet‘s fourth birthday, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, decided to share a few emotional and made-for Instagram messages and videos with their millions of fans and critics.
The former TV star turned royal posted two heartwarming photos of little Lili, accompanied by her parents — one on a boat ride and another during a stroll in Montecito, California, where the Sussex family resides.
Meghan penned a sweet message about Lilibet‘s journey into the world: “Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do! 😂”
The message was accompanied by a now-viral video of Meghan Markle twerking and dancing and dropping it low while in a hospital room, hoping to induce labor. The video is set to Starrkeisha’s mega-hit song, “The Baby Momma Dance.”
While some were quick to criticize Meghan for the intimate video, calling it cringe-worthy, unroyal, and unladylike, others saw it as a relatable moment from the secretive and extremely formal Royal Family.
A few critics claimed King Charles III must be confused, and Kate Middleton clutched her pearls at the absurdity of it all. Markle and her spouse were slammed for demanding privacy while posting an intimate video filmed in the hours leading to childbirth.
According to PEOPLE Magazine, the video has garnered over 23 million views and continues to grow. Meghan is happy with her decision to release the clip because she’s hit her target audience – Gen Z.
Sources close to the Netflix star told the Daily Mail: “Meghan is very pleased with the video. In the UK, everyone’s reaction has been a bit prudish, but everywhere else, particularly in America and especially with young people, it has been a huge hit.”
The person, who’s part of Markle’s team, added it’s her second biggest “win” on Instagram. Her biggest post since relaunching her Instagram page is the announcement of her brand and Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
The source commented: “She and her team count it [the video] as a “win,” which can only be a boost for sales. Her new products are marketed at Americans and not at the UK market.”
The insider slammed those in the UK who are appalled by Meghan’s dance moves by saying: “Meghan doesn’t care about the haters in Britain calling her vulgar. Americans thought the twerking video was hilarious and relatable.”
Indeed, many commentators on social media have stated that it is a refreshingly down-to-earth moment that humanizes Harry and Meghan.
Many insist it was one of the most authentic and refreshing moments ever shared by the Royal Family, and believe Meghan will be able to capitalize on it and further her As Ever and With Love, Meghan brands.
A few curious people wondered if King Charles, Kate Middleton, or Prince William could get down like that when their favorite tune came on.
Not letting a good scandal go to waste, Meghan returned to Instagram, posting a photo of herself strolling on a beach and teasing new business ventures — As Ever, wines, restaurants, and hotels.
The Duchess of Sussex also shared a fun-filled montage shot at Disneyland, where she, Harry, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, are making lifetime memories on rides and meeting Disney princesses.
