Meghan Markle is making it crystal clear to those — including her husband — who want a full-throttle reconciliation with the Royal Family: she wants no part of it.
While Prince Harry conducts interviews and pleads with King Charles and Prince William to accept his calls and possibly meet, the former actress continues to create drama and further alienate her in-laws.
This week, the businesswoman and Netflix star made an appearance on Emma Grede‘s podcast to talk business.
Grede, who is the CEO of Good American and a Skims founding partner, talked more than business with the former actress; she brought up the thorny topic of Markle’s short stint as a working member of the Royal Family alongside Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.
According to Vanity Fair, the mogul asked the founder of As Ever and With Love, Meghan: “I want to say this to you in the best way, because I wonder: If you could rewrite your public narrative from scratch, is there anything that you would do differently?”
Meghan Markle did not hesitate to give the headline-making answer to the prickly question. Markle’s mind went straight to her enemies, the Royal Family, and their devoted staff, who she claimed turned her fairytale into a living nightmare.
The author explained: “Yes, I would ask people to tell the truth.” For the past five years, Meghan Markle has thrown this same dig at the royals in many interviews.
Appearing in the bombshell docuseries Harry & Meghan, the California native spoke about the Royal Family, including King Charles, who took measures such as lying to the media to protect Kate Middleton and Prince William while refusing to share the whole truth about what she and Prince Harry were dealing with when they were working members of the Royal Family.
Meghan Markle said in the documentary: “I wasn’t being thrown to the wolves; I was being fed to the wolves.”
In her first sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, Markle used the example of a story circulating, claiming that she had made Princess Kate cry.
She stated that the opposite happened, and the Royal clan and staff allowed the lie to play out, refusing to correct the narrative so that she could be the villain in the story.
She said: “Only once we were married, and everything started to worsen that I came to understand – not only was I not being protected but that they were willing to lie to protect other members of the family. They were not willing to tell the truth to protect myself and my husband.”
With Markle constantly stirring the muddy water, one thing is clear: if Prince Harry wants to find his way back to his father, brother, and sister-in-law – he will have to take a solo trip, literally and figuratively.
