Royal historian Sally Bedell Smith recently published a column via Substack explaining the immense pain and frustration that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle caused Queen Elizabeth II as she was battling the late stages of bone cancer.
The now-viral piece by Bedell Smith prompted many high-ranking courtiers and close friends of Princess Kate and Prince William to speak out and share more details on the late Queen’s agony.
A friend of Prince William and Kate Middleton said: “You have to remember [that] the Queen was seriously ill for several years with bone cancer. She knew she was dying; she could hardly see, she could hardly stand, she could hardly move. And then she was completely let down by her grandson. It was utterly devastating for her.”
A close friend of Prince William and Kate Middleton told the Daily Beast that Prince Harry was never known for being a “lightbulb,” indicating that Meghan Markle had to be the one with the brain to map out the great escape from royal privileges and protocols.
The insider stated: “The family, of course, all blame Meghan 100 percent. As Sally Bedell Smith’s column made clear, he ain’t the sharpest tool in the box, and they feel he was completely manipulated and that Meghan saw him and realized she could become the most famous person in the world. Then the reality of what their boring royal life would be like sank in, and she decided to ruthlessly milk it for all it was worth. That is their view.”
