Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, have been in the spotlight in the past few weeks.
Following a meeting between the houses of Windsor and Sussex, which was leaked to the Daily Mail, the headlines primarily focused on the potential détente or rapprochement between Prince Harry and King Charles III.
Many questions were raised about the timing of the meeting and the swift leak to the press. There has been a passionate debate about the aftermath of the meet-up: will King Charles sit down with his son and daughter-in-law? Has His Majesty made plans to connect with his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet? And will Prince Harry and his family be in the UK for the King‘s birthday and the upcoming holidays?
In a swift and blunt move, Prince William has decided to retake control of the narrative. The heir and his wife, Kate Middleton, are bemused by the hoopla surrounding the family reconciliation chatter.
Sources close to Prince William told the Daily Mail that he has no plans or desire to ever forgive what Prince Harry or Meghan Markle have done to him and his family.
The insider revealed via The Mail: “…William will never forgive him. Those close to the Prince of Wales say he is beyond anger and never even talks about the brother he was once so close to. Harry has ceased to exist for William, who is now said to be completely ‘indifferent’ towards him.”
Prince William’s rejection of Harry goes beyond anger over past accusations, leaks, and interviews.
It has more to do with the fact that Prince Harry and Markle left him alone to handle the royal workload while he dealt with a sick father and ill wife, juggling fatherhood and raising three young children.
The source added: “I don’t know how Harry sleeps at night knowing he has not just betrayed his brother with his constant stream of vitriol about the royals, but has also been absent at the time of William’s greatest need – coping with both his father and his wife’s cancer ordeals while ploughing on with his royal duties.”
Prince William has made it clear that there is nothing that Prince Harry can do or say to make them reconnect ever again.
The future King endured his burdens alone and will continue to do so. Prince Harry, consequently, must now come to terms with his fate.
