Fast-forward to 2025, where another couple has claimed the honor of hosting the “wedding of the decade.” This month, Amazon founder and billionaire Jeff Bezos married former journalist turned socialite and space enthusiast Lauren Sanchez in a grandiose Italian wedding. The couple’s wedding festivities took over luxurious hotels and restaurants across Venice for nearly a week. The Who’s Who of Hollywood, politics, and fashion attended the affair.
Yet, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s invitation got lost in the mail, as they were noticeably absent from Italy, despite their close ties to guests like Oprah Winfrey and Kris Jenner.
According to a source who spoke to Yahoo, Meghan Markle, who once socialized with the Bidens, King Charles III, and Prince William, believes she possesses more gravitas than many of the guests invited to the star-studded wedding.
Even with a royal status and title, Bezos denied Meghan Markle the opportunity to dazzle at the lavish celebration.
The insider claimed that the former actress is reeling from not getting an invitation to Bezos and Sanchez’s wedding and added: “It shows just how much she and Harry have drifted from Hollywood’s core social scene. Her podcast is one of the most-mocked in the world on social media, and she’s failed to rebrand herself as a philanthropist.”
Prince Harry is powerless in this situation; he cannot help his wife or himself, as he has become persona non grata in Hollywood since his fascinating revelations about his family.
The source claimed: “They don’t have that many friends left. She’s dialed all the big names, but no one’s picked up, and the absence of high-profile guests in the line-up is raising eyebrows. Especially hers. She lives in California, and the best she can do is a woman who runs a dating app. Jeez.”
