Meghan Markle is making it clear to the Royal Family that she feels no obligation to extend an olive branch, as she does not see any sign of genuine reconciliation from King Charles III, Prince William, or Kate Middleton.
Her stance reflects a belief that any grand gesture should be mutual and that she is not responsible for mending the divide alone.
The mother of two has decided to keep a distance from all major developments within the Royal Family. Markle has been wondering why she should have to make any moves when she has received no reason or indication that King Charles and the other royals want her in their vicinity.
Last month, Prince Harry took an unexpected action toward rebuilding the bridge of peace with his father. According to photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Prince Harry’s and King Charles’s staff met and had constructive discussions about a path forward toward a long-awaited detente.
Almost immediately after the news of the peace talks surfaced, numerous reports emerged with two striking narratives. According to a London source who spoke to the Daily Mail, King Charles is moving at a snail’s pace toward a rapprochement with Prince Harry due to his trust issues stemming from the leaks, the bombshell revelations in Spare and the numerous interviews.
The narrative from the Palace walls states that while Prince Harry will be reluctantly accepted back home, Meghan Markle is and will remain persona non grata.
Meghan Markle, like Eve, is often portrayed as the seductress and mastermind who allegedly led Prince Harry to abandon his family and his royal duties.
For committing that “original sin,” Markle will never be forgiven. It seems that Meghan Markle has caught wind of how she is perceived by the royals and wants them to know that the feeling is mutual.
Markle is also fearful of the Royal Family because she believes they failed her in her time of need. They did not protect or defend her, and she has no plans to beg for forgiveness or return to the UK with her two children.
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield emphasized that Meghan Markle highlighted Markle’s main concern, saying: “My understanding is that Meghan Markle has no desire to connect to the British Royal Family. Meghan’s concern is that they would push her out. That they would have more influence on Prince Harry than she does. I feel like this is a last resort for Prince Harry, who has kind of stumbled over the last few years.”
The problems with Markle will make it hard to reach a full detente with Prince Harry.
