This was not because the Duchess of Sussex is mean or anti-family, but rather due to her own failed experiences in this matter.
Over several years, she attempted on multiple occasions to mend the divide with her family, especially with her father, but it always ended in failure.
It appears that with each passing day and with each gesture, Meghan Markle is being proven sadly and heartbreakingly right.

Prince Harry has attempted to contact Prince William and Kate Middleton on multiple occasions, but they have declined. He has also tried to stage a face-to-face meeting this year, but that went nowhere.
According to an interview with Express, royal reporter Richard Fitzwilliams explained why it’s highly unlikely Prince William and his spouse would attend Prince Harry’s flagship charity event.
He stated: “Prince William and Catherine are not thought likely to attend. I strongly doubt Princess Anne will attend. However, there is a long time to go and anything could happen!”
It is not certain that King Charles III will be present for the sporting event for wounded veterans. If he pulls out, he is certain to be represented.
The journalist claimed: “He might ask Beatrice and Eugenie, both of whom get on with the Sussexes, to represent him.
This would be quite within his right as Monarch, although it would obviously be seen as a snub. In any event, they are expected to attend.”
The sporting event will be held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham from July 10 until July 17.
Prince Harry will have to swallow the excruciating truth that, while a détente with his father might be possible, it will not happen with Prince William.
