However, this year, before Kate Middleton and her staff were able to select the theme, artists, and performances, Middleton was involved in a major public controversy that she had no part in initiating.
This week, Netflix announced Meghan Markle’s holiday special that is set to air this year.
The show will reportedly feature Markle surrounded by Prince Harry, their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, decorating a tree, baking holiday cookies, and making gingerbread houses.
The announcement made headlines and sparked considerable discontent, with many Royal Family supporters claiming that Markle is stealing an entire holiday from Kate Middleton.

A commenter remarked, “how can meghan announce a christmas special knowing that the princess of wales has made it her signature event, this is a direct shot at Kate.”
Another person, who backs Princess Kate, complained “this is not a coincidence, meghan and harry are clearly trying to upstage Kate’s Christmas carol service, they always do this.”
A critic asserted, “the together at christmas event is a British tradition that the princess of wales has created, now we have this tacky netflix special to compete with it, it is a disgrace.”
