King Charles III remains consistent in his feelings about Meghan Markle, which could be a problem for the former actress.
The Royal Family is not oblivious. Like everyone else, they are aware of Meghan Markle’s recent headlines. Prince Harry and Markle did what critics said was impossible — they signed another Netflix contract.
The deal is a “first-look” agreement with additional perks. Markle also secured a Christmas holiday special with the streaming service. The renewal was announced alongside strong numbers for her lifestyle brand, As Ever, launched in early 2025.
The Daily Mail and Page Six, citing Netflix sources, report that the deal is smaller than the couple’s 2020 agreement.
Still, BBC reporter Jennie Bond declared that Markle had been vindicated and had won.
Talking about the many erroneous reports that claimed Netflix had parted ways with Prince Harry and Markle, Bond stated: “There was no statement from Harry and Meghan and no indication at any point, but we all decided that the Netflix deal was dead in the water, so it’s one in the eye, actually, to all her detractors.”
The veteran royal reporter continued by referencing specific projects, saying: “There’s one show that’s in the can already, that’s her lifestyle show, there’s a holiday special about Christmas, and then there’s the Ugandan documentary.”
Jennie Bond also discussed Prince Harry’s role in the new deal and his future career path saying: “Harry was mentioned in that only as one of many producers, quite a long way down, actually, and Meghan is also mentioned there. The rest of it is all very, very vague.”
According to Bond, Harry has come to realize that his strengths lie elsewhere. She explained: “I think he has realised that perhaps television isn’t his forte, producing television programmes is really not as easy as he might have thought, and he’s far better not on the celebrity treadmill.”
She concluded this point by stating the “brutal truth”: “But the fact of the matter is, Meghan has won, and we have to eat humble pie.”
King Charles views all of this as positive because it means one thing for him: Prince Harry will not be pleading for a handout. Yes, Meghan Markle has won, but she should not hold her breath for any kind of acknowledgement from King Charles. The King is not giving Meghan Markle any oxygen for this reason: because he believes her successes are hers, and her failures are hers. He will not validate her efforts after the countless revelations, accusations, and truth bombs.
