Meghan Markle has made it clear in her numerous past interviews and via Prince Harry‘s best-selling memoir, Spare, that the Royal Family sometimes has no issue with letting what she describes as a “simple little white lie” run unchecked for years without correcting it.
The Flower Girl Dress Feud
Meghan Markle and her husband spoke about the incident involving the flower girl’s dress that occurred days before their big wedding in 2018.
There were many reports subsequently leaked to the media claiming that she was the one who made Princess Kate cry. The Duchess insisted that her reputation was destroyed by the media over that claim, and she said that she never understood why the Palace never issued a simple clarification on the matter.
She believed that the situation, which snowballed into a huge and years-long scandal, could have been avoided if only it had been rectified by the Palace.
Kate’s Wedding Makeup Mystery
Kate Middleton has found herself in another Palace scandal that could have been avoided with a simple rectification years after her perfect wedding ceremony to Prince William. The chatter has been circulating, claiming that Kate Middleton’s immaculate and soft, natural-toned makeup was done by her. Many were delighted to discover that Middleton is a pro at this and that she did not need the help of any professional makeup artist.
However, in every single interview, it was confirmed that the beautiful story presented by the media, claiming that Middleton achieved the look all by herself, was completely inaccurate. The professional makeup artist behind the brilliant stroke of brushes — the woman who laid the right foundation and applied the right shade of lipstick — has been revealed.
The Confirmation From Bobbi Brown
According to PEOPLE Magazine: “Kate Middleton had some help in achieving her royal wedding look, dispelling a longstanding rumor that she did her own makeup for her walk down the aisle.”
Makeup mogul Bobbi Brown sat down on the Breaking Beauty podcast to promote her new book, Still Bobbi, and the conversation quickly turned to Princess Kate’s April 2011 wedding to Prince William.
The businesswoman confirmed that one part of the story is true: Kate Middleton did use Bobbi Brown products for her big day. Brown said that she was not the one to apply the makeup and added, “I didn’t do her makeup. I wish I did. It was one of my artists, Hannah Martin, who’s become quite a sensation in the U.K.”
PEOPLE Magazine added: “It was previously believed that the Princess of Wales, now 43, did her own makeup for the big day after taking lessons. However, Brown confirmed to the hosts, ‘Hannah did her makeup.’”
Brown spoke more about the makeup artist, saying, “Hannah did give me some information that I should set my alarm and watch,” the makeup guru added. “We were texting back and forth, and she’s like, ‘Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.’ ”
As to why the company was not allowed to claim credit, Brown said: “We didn’t as a company use it — no one did that back then. It wasn’t the right thing to do.” She added, “I have a note hanging in her office from someone who wrote letters on behalf of the royal, saying how much she appreciated the makeup.”
Many are baffled that, yet again, the Palace has failed to clarify this simple situation.
