Meghan Markle Makes Parisian Debut

Meghan Markle stole the limelight and made headlines during Paris Fashion Week. Her appearance at the Balenciaga fashion show was a notable event, marking her first time at the shows in over a decade. The Duchess of Sussex wore a striking and stunning custom white outfit by the house’s new creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, which featured a crisp button-down shirt, wide-leg trousers, and a floor-grazing cape draped over her shoulders. She sat front row alongside high-profile celebrities, including Vogue‘s global editorial director, Anna Wintour, and many others. Markle posed for the camera, showcasing her unique, one-of-a-kind creation, and was later seen at the after-party soirée in a striking, backless black dress that highlighted her sophisticated figure.

Behind The Scenes Footage And Trolling

After the event, Markle posted a video showcasing the luxury elements of her trip: a private flight, a stay at an upscale hotel, personalized styling, designer gowns, floral arrangements, and breakfast, all provided by Balenciaga. The footage included a playful limo ride through Paris, during which Markle relaxed and put her feet up. Soon after, The Daily Mail published a headline accusing Markle of insensitivity. The report claimed a segment of the video showed Markle laughing and lounging as she passed the Alma tunnel and bridge, the site of Princess Diana’s fatal accident.

The Mail wrote: “The footage, which appears to be filmed from the Duchess‘s point of view, shows her putting her feet up inside the car as it passes bridges, including the Pont Alexandre III and the Pont des Invalides. The next bridge along the Seine is the Pont d’Alma, next to the Pont d’Alma tunnel in which Diana, boyfriend Dodi Fayed, and driver Henri Paul died in August 1997 — a tragedy that caused such trauma for her son Harry, Meghan‘s husband.”

Social media quickly reacted, accusing Markle of cruelty and insensitivity toward Prince Harry.

Statement Refuting Media Claims

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not waste time responding. They were quick to release a statement expressing their extreme upset by the published lies. Their statement was extremely clear and to the point, asserting that the claims were erroneous and that such an incident had never occurred.

Via Newsweek, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle responded to the Daily Mail‘s story by saying: “The Daily Mail throwing out a line about insensitivity is a bit rich. They have chosen, at a complete stretch I might add, to draw the most tenuous, tenuous link between an Instagram post and the death of Harry’s mother. That for me is the insensitive bit.”

The couple appears to be tired of being disrespected.
