King Charles III and Prince Harry continue to struggle with their relationship, making sporadic progress toward reconciliation.
Last month, after 19 months of silence — no calls, messages, or emails — the two met face-to-face for about 55 minutes. This private tea and cake meeting included memories, laughter, and some tears.
The Rosy Report and The Royal Snub
However, very soon after, several leaks emerged, with one of the most significant occurring in The Sun, where Prince Harry was criticized by a King Charles aide.
Sources close to Prince Harry painted a very rosy and peachy description of what took place and maybe went overboard by saying that there is a possibility that the meeting had opened the door for a return of Prince Harry and even Meghan Markle, where they would be working royals part-time and living their normal lives the other half — something the late Queen Elizabeth II was completely against.
The aides of King Charles eventually came out to slam the report, saying that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will never have a “foot-in and foot-out” role in the Royal Family. They continued by saying that Prince Harry is delusional and possibly confused, believing that a simple sit-down over tea was akin to the Treaty of Versailles.
Harry Lashes Out At “Men In Gray Suits”
A furious Prince Harry lashed out, with sources telling the Daily Mail that Prince Harry is blaming Palace officials for the leak. He slammed the people he called the “men in gray suits” for attempting to sabotage the relationship that he is trying to repair with his father.
An insider close to Prince Harry told the Daily Mail: “The relationship between the Duke and His Majesty The King is a matter for the two of them and the two of them only. The men in grey suits should stay out of it.”
King Charles’s Confusion and Disappointment
Sources close to King Charles have also spoken to the Daily Mail, stating that he is hurt and is left with a bitter taste of disappointment, and frankly, confused that Prince Harry continues to discuss the men in gray.
A source close to King Charles told The Times: “Yet those at the palace are saddened and perplexed by Harry‘s broadside. The reality is that senior aides have been working behind the scenes to improve what is a delicate but important private family relationship.”
Apparently, King Charles is lost for words because he has no idea who these men are or how they can wield such influence as to dictate how he can see his son and what he can do as the King of England.
According to the source, King Charles is rolling his eyes, but with sadness and a hint of disappointment that Prince Harry is still talking about these anonymous individuals who are preventing him from forming a relationship or who are leaking damaging stories to tarnish his reputation.
