Meghan Markle’s Paris Video Scandal Drove a Major Opportunity Away
Meghan Markle recently made headlines, sitting front row at Paris Fashion Week for Balenciaga’s show. This appearance, however, set off a series of events that now appear to have jeopardized her future deals in the fashion world.
Sources Claim Meghan Markle Was Paid Millions For Balenciaga Appearance
It was eventually revealed by her spokesperson that she attended the high-profile event to support her friend and fashion designer Pierpaolo Piccioli.
Days after her appearance, sources told Yahoo! that Meghan Markle was allegedly paid millions to attend the event. A fashion insider described it as a “lucrative transaction,” suggesting she was not merely invited.
According to a fashion industry insider, the Italian fashion house sought global attention, and the California royal delivered — and then some.
The source also claimed that Markle was pampered, travelling via private jet, staying at a 5-star hotel, and having a glam squad. The Netflix star was probably one of the highest-paid fashion “guests” in history.
The person in the know told Yahoo, “Balenciaga wanted global attention, and Meghan delivered.”
Balenciaga Designer’s Embarrassing Revelation On The Deal
However, this week, Balenciaga’s designer made a very embarrassing revelation about the whole deal. There is a huge possibility that Markle was never paid a dime for the show because she was not invited. The former actress is the one who called Pierpaolo Piccioli and asked if it was possible to come to Fashion Week.
He told The Cut on Saturday: “She reached out and said she’d love to come. Meghan and I met some years ago, and we’ve been texting ever since.”
Although he continued to praise Markle, that revelation sparked interest because he confirmed that Meghan Markle is the one who initiated contact and eventually landed the invite, and she was not paid millions to attend the show.
Meghan Markle Was Not To Come; There Was No Strategy Or Lucrative Deal
Piccioli only went on to say that he has known Meghan Markle for some time, and they often text each other. He also made a revelation that hinted it was not a lucrative business transaction, stating that there was no strategy or orchestration behind the move. Meghan Markle asked to come, and he and the Balenciaga team decided yes, because it would be a nice fashion surprise.
He stated: “She reached out and said she’d love to come to the show. There was no strategy or big orchestration. I didn’t tell anyone she was coming because I wanted it to stay a surprise. in fashion, real surprises are rare, and this one was beautiful.”
Meghan Markle’s PR Disaster Caused Balenciaga To Distance Itself?
Royal watchers speculate that Balenciaga may be distancing itself from Meghan Markle after her viral Paris video, in which she appeared to film near the Pont de l’Alma, the site of Princess Diana‘s fatal car crash, created major controversy.
