Meghan Markle: Critics Are Barking Up The Wrong Tree
Meghan Markle wants her critics to know they are misinformed about her relationship with Prince Harry and that the latest criticisms are unfounded.
The Duchess of Sussex really stirred the pot this month with her major return to Europe. She stormed Paris by attending the Balenciaga fashion show, where she sat in the front row. She was the center of attention in a crisp white ensemble and later took the limelight from the City of Light once again in a black gown as she enjoyed the successful show’s after-party. Both looks were custom Balenciaga by the brand’s new Creative Director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, a longtime friend.
The Duchess eventually took to her official Instagram account, sharing a video chronicling her day in Paris, which showed her makeup team, her fashion stylist preparing her, the fancy hotel room, breakfast, flowers, her enjoying a limousine ride through the city, and taking in the historical architecture that Paris is known for. She captioned the post: “About last night. Thank you @pppiccioli and @balenciaga I’ve missed you 🇫🇷 – thanks for the love ❤️.”
The Tunnel Controversy: Prince Harry’s True Reaction
The video, however, led to a ton of drama when some critics pointed out that Meghan Markle could be seen in the clip driving through or near the Pont de l’Alma tunnel—the same tunnel where Princess Diana was killed in 1997. This created a huge controversy, with many sources claiming that Prince Harry was “infuriated,” “angry,” and “disappointed” that Meghan could have made such a “careless act.” Some reports even speculated that Prince Harry feared the video was a “declaration of war” that would further damage his relationship with his father and brother, even suggesting it was “the thing that broke the camel’s back” and that he would seek a way to leave his wife.
However, a source closest to Prince Harry spoke to the Daily Mail to set the record straight. The source says that Prince Harry views the incident as an honest mistake and that it is “not a reason to crucify Meghan Markle.” The insider went on to clarify that Prince Harry is upset, but not with his wife. Instead, he is ready to “crucify” the people who have been relentlessly attacking Meghan and using his mother’s death to do so. The Prince finds all of this “depressing” and “ironically… a joke, but it’s not a very funny one,” as people are still using anything they can find to belittle Meghan Markle or make her look “evil.”
To make it clear: Prince Harry is upset, but not at Meghan Markle. He and his wife are doing fine, and he maintains that Meghan “was nowhere near that bridge and she would have never crossed that line to hurt him or his family.”
Prince Harry has his wife’s back.
