Prince William believes that considering Prince Harry’s desires is not that simple at the moment.
King Charles III recently made a telling move by letting Prince Harry back into his life and his heart. The father and son met over the summer at Clarence House for about 55 minutes.
Major Setback for Harry and Meghan After King Charles Alters Plans
While the meeting was brief, royal sources have confirmed that there was time for King Charles and Prince Harry to share tea and biscuits, marking a significant reconnection and an exchange of gifts.
This occasion was also sufficient for many to believe it was the first building block in establishing a path toward reconciliation.
Immediately after, Prince Harry communicated to the media that he plans to return to the UK more frequently, possibly with his children, and perhaps, at some point, with Meghan Markle.
The Palace responded by saying that, indeed, His Majesty was planning to build on what he had started with Prince Harry. Reports surfaced claiming that King Charles was considering the possibility of having his son in the UK for a proper Christmas celebration.
It would be the first time that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet would take part in English Christmas traditions. Rumors also say His Majesty hopes to meet Harry next spring in 2026.
Andrew’s Drama Halts Reconciliation
However, King Charles’s progress with Prince Harry has stalled, mainly due to ongoing controversies surrounding Prince Andrew.
After difficult negotiations regarding the relinquishment of titles, His Majesty arranged for his brother’s relocation and set an agreement. He must now respond to public sentiment that the response was delayed, particularly following Virginia Giuffre’s disclosures and her subsequent passing.
An expert explained the situation: “It’s not the time and not the space.” King Charles must assume the new role of enforcer of the rules and micromanage the agreement that Andrew signed.
The King is forced to step in as a father figure for Andrew. His Majesty is at an advanced age, battling cancer, and must make sure that Andrew stays out of trouble and does not further humiliate the monarchy and the Royal Family.
If Andrew steps out of order again, it could have legal ramifications for King Charles and the monarchy.
No Room for Hospitality
Unfortunately for Prince Harry, the reconciliation process could not have come at a worse time. His Majesty must portray the image of a rule enforcer; he cannot be seen as hospitable and welcoming to his son or daughter-in-law, who have caused damage to the monarchy with their words and actions.
Some believe that “There is no way the King can be seen with Harry when he is barely handling the fallout and backlash from mishandling Andrew.” Perhaps William was correct: given the current situation, the King cannot be seen or photographed with Harry.
The King’s Full Plate
BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond explained that while one small window might have opened for Prince Harry, many other doors have closed due to the King’s full plate of responsibilities and the need to manage Andrew’s fallout.
The reporter explained that there are positive signs coming from the palaces, with both King Charles and the heir discussing Prince Harry’s passion project with the media.
She claimed: “All three, Charles, William, and Harry, are becoming more vocal about the dangers of social media. And I think they are voicing the concerns of so many of us. It is a valid and impactful use of their platforms. But I don’t think it has any bearing on a full reconciliation between the King and Harry.”
However, she concluded that the task of reuniting has been complicated by the Andrew developments. The reporter claimed: “Hopefully that is still quietly bubbling on behind the scenes, which is exactly where it must remain if there is to be any hope of seeing them together again. I do think the King has enough on his plate at the moment with the Andrew crisis and his work as Sovereign; there can’t be much room left in his head to deal with his younger son.”
The Duke of Sussex will have to be patient.
With Andrew it’s only one persons word against another nothing has been proved. Andrew has never denied the Epstein or that the Chinese person was a business person that he delt with the only thing that he denies is having sex with a 17/18 year girl which in this country isn’t illegal but harry has put it over every type of media he could find to tell what he says is the truth as he wants it to be. I’m sorry if I don’t agree with the media but in my book harry and megan are ten times worse than Andrew because they done it for money and still are
