Meghan Markle believes the most recent decision regarding her ailing father is reportedly being judged more harshly than usual. She has done the only thing possible to bring peace to herself and her family, and she is unapologetic about it.
Thomas Markle’s Severe Health Crisis
News broke recently via the Daily Mail that Thomas Markle, the Duchess‘s estranged father, had been rushed to a hospital in the Philippines. Doctors discovered he had blood clots, and after an initial surgery proved insufficient, he had to have one leg amputated due to the extent of his health issues. He is now facing a lengthy recovery process.
The dramatic health update was accompanied by several follow-ups. Mr. Markle pleads to see his daughter and to finally meet his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. There was also significant confusion about the way Markle chose to contact her father.
The Letter and The Goal: Closure
Amid the health crisis, Meghan Markle decided to deliver a personal, heartbreaking letter to her father in the hospital. The letter’s singular goal was to “give both parties the closure they need or deserve,” outlining her “truths and decisions.”
The Duchess wants the public to know that she is being misjudged for her recent actions, believing she has followed her heart and has finally done the “right” or “only thing” to wrap up the drama with Thomas Markle and her half-sister, Samantha Markle.
An Era of Silence And Moving On Begins
The message, though perhaps “hard to swallow,” was reportedly received and accepted by Thomas Markle and his children. All seems to indicate that the entire Markle family has now “gone silent,” signaling that they have reached the end of the “long, draining, and scandalous chapter” that played in prime time.
Meghan Markle, via a close source, confirmed she has indeed achieved the much-needed closure she sought, with the intention being: no more fights, no more drama, no more hurt, no more revenge or insults — this is finally where it ends for the family.
No Plans For Visit or Contact
Despite the gravity of her father’s condition, multiple sources confirmed the Duchess has no plans to travel to the Philippines to see him.
Furthermore, sources speaking to Page Six and The Times revealed that Meghan Markle will not call Thomas Markle and that there will be no further letters.
Another person familiar with the family added: “Meghan had her father’s number and room and hospital name very early on … she won’t even call him.’”
A source familiar with the Duchess admitted to Page Six that she will certainly “not be risking any further contact, even the letter, was dangerous, as the family could ‘share it or they could paraphrase it to be worse than it is, and then she’s f–ked.”
The Duchess has clearly stated her intention to maintain this new state of silence and finality.
Thomas Markle has not written back to his royal daughter. Prince Harry has his wife’s back no matter what.
