There have been widespread reports, rumors, and exposés claiming that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are hitting rock bottom financially.
Following the loss of Meghan’s Netflix series With Love, Meghan, which was axed after two seasons, and her reported split from Spotify and Lemonada, many indicated the couple was struggling financially.
Reports suggested that Markle was reduced to acting as a “meet and greet” celebrity, scrapping for cash with $2,200-a-ticket VIP packages at an upcoming wellness retreat in Australia.
But all has been turned around, according to her Hollywood agent, who has decided to paint a stunning and grandiose picture of Markle’s major comeback to her first passion: acting.
Last month, unexpectedly, her former Suits co-star Eric Roberts gave a brief interview at a red carpet event, publicly declaring that the 44-year-old Markle was plotting a comeback to Hollywood and was ready and eager to act again “if the right project came up.”
It was the beginning of a floodgate of offers, according to the agent who spoke to Page Six. Since then, dozens of directors and producers have been “scrambling in the last couple of weeks” to hire Markle.
Hollywood Scrambles For The “Unicorn”
Meghan Markle has been “bombarded” with work offers following the revelation she is planning a return to acting. Studios and production companies have tabled offers to the Duchess of Sussex for a range of roles, including horror and even soap operas, the senior Los Angeles casting agent told Page Six.
“Meghan has been the hottest talking point in Hollywood circles in the last couple of weeks,” the agent claimed. “The very suggestion that she is planning to come back to acting has prompted interest the likes I have never seen in my three decades in the business.”
The frenzy is not limited to a single genre, with the industry desperate to get the Duchess, who starred in Suits, on a call sheet: “Offers for leading roles and development proposals have flooded in… We are talking purveyors of genres including rom coms, drama, sitcoms and even soap operas. We cast across the board, and everyone wants to be in the conversation.”
The “Stratospheric” Hype
The agent also described Meghan Markle as a “unicorn” because her signing onto any project would generate “stratospheric” hype and headlines.
Markle will not need a budget for advertisement because she generates headlines, hashtags, conversations, and drama like no other celebrity.
“The reality of the excitement is that having Meghan in a screen project is a big deal on several fronts,” our source explained. “The primary opportunities seen by executives are how much attention Meghan’s return would bring to a project, which would prompt potentially tens of millions of investment money… And the reason for that is that the interest and publicity for her return would mean potential huge viewing figures or cinemagoer ticket sales – not just in the US, but around the world.”
Leaving The “Royal Drama” Behind
The fascinating development is that Markle has refused to act in Netflix projects, despite her multi-million-dollar deal. The agent explained that none of that matters because her decision is sealed and she now that she is returning to her roots: “It is irrelevant how her Netflix shows have fared, because this is Meghan back to her first career, which she’s enjoyed experience and success in,” the casting agent shared. “Her standing as an actress has always been solid and she was immensely popular in Suits. A return to her being involved in dramatics on screen, rather being in the drama with her family issue off screen is very appealing.”
This is believed to be great news for Markle, who was previously reported as ready to return to the United Kingdom with Prince Harry and beg King Charles III for work and financial stability.
She is certainly killing that rumor while letting the world know she is financially well-off and will be making money through various opportunities. The Royal Family has no interest in Markle’s career path as long as she is not selling the monarchy’s secrets.
