Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan have been hit by another rumor that ABC is expected to deny any day now.
This week, a new report came out saying that Mrs. Ripa is laughing at all the rumors being spread on the Internet about Strahan.
Almost one year ago, the world was shocked after the former football player suddenly left the syndicated morning talk show Live! With Kelly and Michael.
Strahan Ripa were co-hosts from 2012 to 2016. He earned two Daytime Emmy Awards during that time.
After splitting from Ripa, the former American football defensive end joined Good Morning America where there have been endless rumors of his diva-like attitude on the ABC morning television show.
Last week, a source told Page Six that the other co-anchors are jealous of Strahan’s king-like treatment by executives.
The source said: “They roll out the carpet for [Strahan] while seasoned talent is treated like dirt. He’s been given a lot of opportunity, flexibility when the others who have been working there longer don’t get that kind of treatment.”
The insider said pop anchor Lara Spencer is particularly furious with the network’s way of handling the situation.
The source added: “They know how to put it on for the cameras, but he’s doing a lot of what Lara should be doing [on the show] and she’s not happy. She’s the pop person.”
Ripa finds it amusing that the world is discovering that her ex-co-chair has a big ego and has become a huge problem on the set of the program.
The source explained to Life & Style: “Kelly was portrayed as the diva when he left, but it was really Michael who went behind Kelly’s back. Now Kelly is telling producers on her show that she knew karma would get Michael. She knew it was only a matter of time before Michael caused problems elsewhere.”
The insider added: “[Michael] is demanding more camera time, and it is really upsetting everyone on the set.”
Ripa has worked with many guest-hosts and has yet to pick a replacement.
