Lil Kim has always been very vocal in her disapproval of the film about the life of iconic rapper Notorious B.I.G. with whom she used to be in a relationship while he was alive.
The 2009 movie Notorious, directed by George Tillman Jr., failed to hit the mark, according to the iconic rapper.
Lil Kim has made it clear on multiple occasions in the past that she strongly disagrees with the way the film is presented, and she has recently voiced her disapproval once again, reigniting some discussions about the production.
One of the points that Lil Kim had against the film was the casting choice for her role, which ended up being played by Power star Naturi Naughton.
According to Lil Kim, she strongly disapproved of the choice and did not see a strong resemblance between herself and Naturi in the slightest.
The 45-year-old “Magic Stick” artist stated: “I’m gonna touch on this briefly because I think everybody already knows my answer to this, but I hated everything about that movie. I hated it. Wasn’t involved in it. I actually had to get my lawyers involved, which I ended up getting a check from it. That was the only reason I was [like] whatever.”
Lil Kim continued with: “I was not okay with that! I would have never picked her. Never, ever, ever. She has nothing in common with me. Nothing. No, seriously. I said it already, so I’m not gonna sit here and act like I didn’t say these things.”
This has led to some divided responses in the rap community, with some defending Lil Kim, while others have been more critical of her, claiming that she was a bit out of place with her comments.
In any case, Naturi seems to have had enough of these talks, and she recently decided to fire a subtle jab back at Lil Kim, quoting none other than Biggie himself.
She posted “Mo Money, Mo Problems,” noting who she was quoting as well.
Her jab immediately gained a lot of attention and has been making the rounds online, and it seems to have been quite the trigger for some of Lil Kim’s fans, who have been actively attacking Naturi ever since she made her comment.
One Lil Kim critic stated: “She never gives a reason why tho… She can’t say she didn’t do a good job in the movie playing her; she did amazing…..so what’s the reason (in my cardi b voice)….tbh we all know the reason.”
The femcee is said to be working on her biopic and would like Lil Mama or Teyana Taylor to play her part.
