The legal battle between the mother of XXXTentacion, Cleopatra Bernard, and his baby mama, Jenesis Sanchez, has finally concluded, and fans are applauding them for working things out quickly and amicably.
It appears that the two women have reached an agreement over the custody of the late rapper’s son, Gekyume Onfroy, who is one year old.
The fight between the two women first started after the death of the “Look at Me” artist, when Sanchez wanted to prove that Gekyume was indeed XXXTentacion’s son and she requested in court that a DNA sample of her deceased partner for comparison.
Back then, Sanchez justified her request by stating that she and XXXTentacion had been in a serious relationship, and the two of them had been living together until the young music star’s unexpected death on June 18, 2018 in Florida where he was set to take part in a charity event.
Sanchez also claimed that although she and the rapper were not married, she wanted for him to be recognized as the father of her child.
However, Bernard did not agree with the motion and refused to comply until it was decided in court that Sanchez’s request is reasonable, and it will be fulfilled.
Most recently, documents from The Blast, showed that Bernard was dragging her son’s baby mama to court again.
This time around, she wanted to gain custody of baby Gekyume. The official documents revealed that a Florida judge appointed a “Guardian Ad Litem” to find the best solution for the baby boy.
However, the great news is that it was reported that Sanchez and Bernard had reached an understanding of what was best for Gekyume. Allegedly, their court battle ended with a “Confidential Mediated Settlement.”
Besides, it was reportedly decided that the two sides will establish a trust account for Gekyume.
Meanwhile, Bernard has been involved in another lawsuit — this time with a producer who had worked with her late son, James “Jimmy” Duval, who has claimed that he was owed the sum $2 million in unpaid royalties.
Bernard has been keeping fans updated with sweet photos of the adorable baby boy who is the spitting image of his late father.
However, fans never got behind her for the different legal proceedings.
