The bombshell book about Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, is still doing damages because of the number of painful revelations it contains about the royal family.
For a long time, the rumors claimed that Harry and his brother, Prince William, had stopped talking for months.
It was revealed that Prince William was furious and confused by his brother’s decision to abandon it all — his home, England, his family, and all that mattered to him — to move to Califonia with his wife and baby boy Archie.
According to one of the well-connected authors of Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, the rift between Prince William and Prince Harry is real and is only growing bigger.
Omid Scobie did an interview with The Sun, where he explained that Prince William cut all communication with Prince Harry the day he took to Instagram and announced to the world that he and Meghan were exiting England.
Kate Middleton‘s husband was furious after learning on social media that Harry and his wife were moving to Canada and become financially independent without discussing their plans with any senior royal family members.
The royal biographer said the brothers “still barely speak, and their rift will take time to heal.”
Scobie continued by sharing: “I think the distance between the brothers grew wider and wider. That’s really going to take some time to heal.”
He went on to explain why the surprising departure hurt William: “The statements weren’t discussed internally. That’s really what caused the most amount of hurt to William because he wears two hats. He’s not just the brother; he’s also future king, and he felt that damaged the family’s reputation. That it put the family business out into the public domain when it should’ve been discussed privately, and there was a lot of hurts there that continues to this day.”
After the announcement was made, no one really insisted on Harry and Meghan changing their minds and staying, according to Scobie.
Scobie also revealed that there was trouble brewing in the family because he felt that his wife was not fully embraced and respected.
At some point, Harry had to call his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and ask her to intervene.
Scobie revealed: “Harry had to intervene. He called his grandmother and said, ‘I don’t know what the hell is going on. This woman needs to make this work for my future wife. Harry felt that there were those within the institution that would stop at nothing at the very least to make Meghan’s life difficult.”
A royal fan reached out and said: “???????????? Freedom is a better treasure in the world with love. ❤️”
This backer of the royal couple explained: “I am so proud of you and Meghan! Now more than ever! We need you, Harry. We need you, Meghan and Archie?. Thank you for being so fiercely human! Blacklivesmatter❤️.”
A reconciliation for the brothers is unlikely in the near future.
