Recently, Princess Anne celebrated her 70th birthday, and her nephew and his wife were delighted to mark the special occasion in a meaningful way.
Via Instagram, the Duke of Cambridge, and his spouse unveiled three beautiful photos of Princess Anne. In one picture, the Princess Royal and the Duchess of Cambridge are bonding and laughing while at Buckingham Palace.
The power couple also shared a stunning official portrait of Anne, where she is wearing a green dress that highlights her almost emerald eyes.
The sweet caption from the Kensington Royal Instagram account read: “Wishing a very happy 70th birthday to Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal!”
Royal fans ran to the comment section for some sweet messages. This social media user penned this kind note that read: “Happy birthday to this amazing and hardworking lady!? She looks a lot like her mother The Queen ?❤️?History will show how The Princess Royal has always been a wonderful support to her brother and his sons as well as her parents.”
However, very quickly, the conversation turned to the Queen’s abdication and the fact that some British citizens would prefer to see Anne take the throne instead of Prince Charles.
A backer of the Queen’s only daughter stated: “I know she wouldn’t want to and can’t be, but HRH would make an amazing Queen x.”
This nuanced voice said that Anne will support her brother when the queen can no longer hold the position: “Charles will make a great King and will have the love and support from all his family!
