It is official, Cardi B and husband Offset have decided to go their separate ways.
On Tuesday, fans of the famous femcee from New York, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, ended her three-year marriage from Offset, born Kiari Cephus.
According to court documents, Cardi B filed for divorce of September 14 in Superior Court, Fulton County, Georgia.
Cardi B’s attorney filed the original documents and stated that she wanted primary physical custody of 2-year-old daughter Kulture, whom she shares with Offset.
The lawyer also claimed that the 27-year-old “WAP” entertainer was requesting child support.
Cardi B has made it clear that this is not the case. She wants to have joint custody of Kulture and wants a very amicable co-parenting situation with her soon-to-be ex-husband.
Cardi and the Migos rapper have had a complicated relationship since day one. In late 2017, Offset, who was denying cheating allegations, proposed to Cardi and got married that same year.
In 2018, Offset was once more accused of being unfaithful, prompting Cardi B to leave him, but the pair reconciled a few months later.
The “Bodak Yellow” artist said at the time: “When me and my husband got into our issues—you know, he cheated and everything—and I decided to stay with him and work together with him, a lot of people were so mad at me. A lot of women felt disappointed in me. But it’s real-life s–t.”
Days before hiring a lawyer and heading to court, Cardi took to Twitter to hint that she was ready to start a new chapter in her life without Offset.
She wrote: “Her heart finally told her to stop wasting her time, it’s time ?.”
A source close to Cardi B spoke E! and said that the relation is now indeed “irretrievably broken and there are no prospects for a reconciliation” and added: “Cardi does not trust Offset. She’s really tried for the last two years and has tried to forgive him. It’s been hard for her since the last cheating scandal and there have been rumors of him being unfaithful again.”
Like last time, Offset has been doing all he can to win his wife back but in vain.
The insider went on to say: “He has been pleading with her that he hasn’t, but many girls have come forward with claims. She had enough and decided to file. Cardi wants to be a good example for her daughter and women out there.”
Cardi seems more determined to end this marriage at this time around.
