According to a recent interview, Prince William has found new friends in the faces of sports journalist Tom Fordyce, legendary soccer striker Peter Crouch, and radio presenter Chris Stark, as the men apparently had a lot of fun during their recent gathering in Kensington Palace.
During an episode of the Fan Club show, the radio host opened up to entertainers Nathaniel Metcalfe and Nick Helm about the beautiful experience he had with the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II.
According to Stark, they all got together with the Duke of Cambridge for a special episode of the That Peter Crouch podcast and enjoyed quality time drinking beers and talking about sports.
Kate Middleton‘s husband was having so much fun that even though at some point during the gathering, he was prompted by one of his assistants that his next meeting was due, the Duke of Cambridge decided not to attend it.
Stark explained: “Boys, it was so fun, I went to Kensington Palace, I had loads of beers. He [Prince William] had a couple of pints, and it got to 40 minutes, and one of his team went like, ‘Sir, your next appointment (is due),’ and he basically binned it off, and I think he was having a good time.”
The royal and his newly-found friends discussed a range of topics, including the unexpected struggles for Prince William during the ongoing period of social distancing and self-isolation.
The Duke of Cambridge jokingly admitted that ever since his children — Prince George and Princess Charlotte — had to continue their education from home, he discovered that he was struggling with his tutoring, as he stated, “I was a bit embarrassed about my maths knowledge – I can’t do Year 2 Maths!”
In addition, Prince William reminisced about the first football match he watched with his two oldest children: “I took George and Charlotte to the Norwich v Villa game at Carrow Road. We tried to slip in there quietly, but the cameras picked us up. Best game of Villa’s season! It ended 5-1.”
The Duchess also took part in another interview where she revealed that homeschooling her children was not easy.
She revealed: “George gets very upset because he wants to do Charlotte’s projects. Because making things like spider sandwiches is far cooler than doing literacy work!”
The royals are a bit happier now because their children have returned to school. This episode showed why a lot of people think Prince William should be the next king.
