Princess Eugenie Lays Bare Her Pain In Powerful Photo As She Gets Ready To Have Her First Royal Baby

Princess Eugenie was unusually open with her fans. The younger daughter of Prince Andrew recently updated her Instagram profile with a new photo that showed one of the consequences of her battle with scoliosis — a lengthy scar on her back she received after going through surgery for her condition.

Princess Eugenie underwent the operation when she was just 12 years old, and as a result, some titanium was integrated into her spine, so her posture was corrected.

The granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II explained that even though she had posted the snap earlier when she showed the same image on social media on the International Scoliosis Awareness Day in June, the photo was so popular that she wanted to make the picture her own “#throwbackthursday.”

As a result, the 30-year-old royal, who is pregnant with royal baby number one, was soon showered with numerous photos of fans that showed their own skin marks, and the princess honored a couple of them, as she shared the snaps on her Instagram with the comment, “Scars are beautiful.”

A royal enthusiast, who knows Eugenie’s struggles and pain, explained: “In fact, dear Eugenie, this is such a beautiful picture, your pretty neck, and little cheek, like a Victorian painting…You are SO brave, so humble… yet you suffered so much, and you give so much of your time and heart to us all.”

Jack and I are so excited for early 2021….??

This social media user chimed in: “I have double scoliosis with spina bifida occulta. Where my first scoliosis ends, the second begins. Even though I’m 17 and they were diagnosed 5 years ago, it’s inoperable for doctors because it’s too dangerous. But seeing that you, Princess Eugenie, proudly wear your scar makes me accept my difference more.”

It appears that Eugenie definitely is not ashamed of her scar, as she even highlighted the mark on her wedding day in October 2018.

Apparently, the princess preferred her wedding dress to showcase the scar instead of hiding it, as she has explained, “After one or two initial meetings where I said I wanted to show my back and scar, we had a fitting, and in their first attempt at the shape and design of the dress, they got me and the vision in one.”

Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, revealed this week that they are expecting their first child.

The couple made the pregnancy announcement with a sweet photo that featured their hands holding a pair of fuzzy teddy bear baby shoes.
