Kate Middleton is breaking barriers with her new role, and some royal fans are calling her a real feminist.
It was confirmed that Prince William‘s wife has become the joint president of The Scout Association.
This is the Duchess of Cambridge‘s first presidency of an organization. Kate is also the first woman in the organization’s 113-year-old history to hold the title.
Kate will be working with Queen Elizabeth‘s cousin, the Duke of Kent, in being joint President of the Scouts.
In a series of photos that were released via Kensington Palace, Kate could be seen enjoying and celebrating her new role by bonding with Cub and Beaver Scouts.
The future Queen consort had an outdoor meeting with several young scouts. She sat with them around a campfire where they had fun toasting marshmallows and talking.
The group took part in several socially-distanced activities, including making paper helicopters.
The Duchess of Cambridge also had a lengthy conversation with a handful of volunteers who have been helping parents during the coronavirus pandemic.
A delighted Kate said this in a statement after landing the role: “For many children and young people, the Scout Association plays a key role as they build relationships and develop the skills they need to succeed in later life. When I volunteered with the Scouts on Anglesey eight years ago, I was struck by the huge impact the organization has on inspiring young people to support their communities and achieve their goals. I am delighted to be joining the Duke of Kent as Joint President of the Association and look forward to working with Scouts across the country as they strive to make a positive difference to our society.”
A spokesperson for the organization called her an example and added: “She is a great inspiration to our leaders due to the support she offers. Much like Bear Grylls, the duchess demonstrates how brilliant it is to be a volunteer and work that those volunteers in support of young people. People in areas of deprivation are being disproportionately affected by coronavirus, and our movement plans to put as many resources as possible into those areas.”
This social media user revealed: “So proud that she’s the first woman to be scouts president in its 113-year history. That’s what I call feminism; she’s getting what she deserves ❤️. Kate just keeps going and going and going. Taking on any new task with her generous, dutiful, and caring spirit.”
This backer wrote this sweet comment saying: “This is such a perfect position for the Duchess of Cambridge. ? She is an incredible role model for the children.?
