This week, Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip, celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary.
To mark the impressive milestone, the couple posed for a lovely picture taken from the Oak Room at Windsor Castle and shared on the royal family’s official Instagram page.
Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and his wife sat side by side on a couch while reading the beautiful cards and letters they received from their loved ones.
The 94-year-old monarch and her 99-year-old hubby smiled as they held a large homemade wedding anniversary card put together by their great-grandchildren — Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2.
Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s children used a large white sheet of paper decorated with colorful circles and splashed the number 73 in the middle.
The post had this caption: “This new image has been released to mark the 73rd wedding anniversary of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh tomorrow.”
The photograph was taken by @Chrisjacksongetty earlier this week. The picture delighted many royal fans who rapidly rushed into the comment section to help the pair mark the occasion.
A supporter of Her Majesty and her spouse had this kind reaction: “That’s amazing! Happy 73rd wedding anniversary to Her Majesty The Queen and Prince Philip! What a beautiful card too!”
The Queen received this complimentary note from a backer that read: “Happy Anniversary to you both from West Virginia from the United States. I hope you have many more happy years together.”
Another sweet message read: “Congratulations to Her Majesty and His Royal Highness! Please stay safe and enjoy each other’s company as long as possible!?”
A few social media users were baffled by the fact that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s child was snubbed.
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who is one year old and lives in California, was not included in the project with his cousins.

Omid Scobie, one of the authors of Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern Family, shared a message congratulating Queen Elizabeth that read: “Happy 73rd anniversary! Harry and Meghan are still no closer to making peace with the Queen, and things seem to be getting tenser. The power couple is focusing on conquering the entertainment industry after quitting their royal duties in 2020.
