Regé-Jean Page has been spotted in London with a woman who is believed to be his real-life girlfriend — disappointing millions of die-hard Bridgerton fans worldwide.
On Valentine’s Day, the 31-year-old actor, who has recently earned millions of extra fans due to his portrayal of the Duke of Hastings in hit Netflix drama Bridgerton, was seen in London with his rumored girlfriend, Emily Brown.
Page has attracted global attention playing the role of Simon Basset, alongside his love interest, Daphne Bridgerton, portrayed by Phoebe Dynevor.
And the mystery surrounding his real love life led many fans to believe he was still on the market.
He wore a black coat and a green scarf to fend off the cold over the Valentine’s Day weekend, as he embraced Emily Brown in the street near to the couple’s joint home in London.
Brown, who is a freelance copywriter and part-time soccer player for FBB Warriors, wore a blue coat and large white boots, accessorized with a woolly hat.
Many fans were disappointed to see the photos, while others were in tears to learn that their idol is no longer single.
A few social media users were upset that he is dating a White woman. A fan of the hit series said: “Oh, come on!!!!!!! punches airI thought it was Adele for a minute. 🧐”
Another stated: “I wish I was shocked, but I’m not. Anyway, I heard he’s not in season 2 that much, so I guess the hype might die down.”
This disappointed woman revealed: “He’s British…seeing him with a White woman isn’t surprising… He’s still gorgeous and charming. 😍”
Page was born in London before moving to Zimbabwe, where he was brought up. He then moved back to London as a teenager before living in Los Angeles for much of his 20s.
He played roles in Roots and For the People before landing his biggest role yet as the Duke of Hastings in Bridgerton, which was released on December 25 2020.
After being spotted in London with his partner, Page is believed to have headed to the airport and traveled to New York for filming.
Before dating Page, Emily Brown dated soccer coach Jack Badu, with whom she was seen attending matches.
According to those who posted about her on LinkedIn, Brown is “witty” and “great fun.” She writes for companies including Nike, Uber, and Converse.
Regé-Jean Page is set to host Saturday Night Live on February 20.
