Jessica Simpson has shared a trio of fashionable photos to her Instagram account wearing three different yet equally striking outfits as she promotes the new paperback version of her autobiography, Open Book.
Open Book has been on the shelves for more than a year now and includes Simpson’s personal struggles and how she rose to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
In the book, Jessica Simpson got raw and honest about her failed marriage to ex-hubby Nick Lachey.
She shared intimate and personal notes that she wrote during the public divorce process where she revealed that she was “saddened beyond belief” after seeing the first picture of Nick Lachey on a date night with his then-new girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo.
Simpson poured her heart out writing in her divorce journal: “So, Nick, you’re with another already? It seems that you forgot the love you spoke to me. I’m saddened beyond belief. Alone in the dark, with no one to call my own.”
She continued: “Oh night, love me tenderly, love me quiet, find me happy, find me right. Oh lord, let your star shine upon me tonight.”
She also explained in her heartfelt written note why it was necessary to split from the singer: “I didn’t want to be married any longer, but I was also afraid to be alone with ‘no one to call my own but the night. The house is hushed. Everything is still. I sit in solitude. To cry. To feel alone….”
Simpson said she hooked up with Lachey for the last time in the summer of 2006, and in the early fall of 2006, he made it official that he was dating Minnillo.
The 40-year-old singer recently posted three photos to promote the book with the hashtag #OpenBookLooks. She shared pics wearing the outfits from her tour last year after Open Book was originally released in February 2020.
Jessica Simpson also reshared more photos to her Instagram Stories, which had been posted by fashion stylist Nicole Chavez, tagging various fashion companies — including Yves Saint Laurent, Tom Ford, and Balmain.
The “I Wanna Love You Forever” singer was wearing a stunning outfit by Prada in one of the photos, with her blonde hair tied back from her face.
In another, which she captioned “dressed in Tom Ford — bless the Lord!,” Jessica Simpson stood with her hands on her hips, looking away from the camera and wearing a hot pink top with a contrasting leather skirt and pair of boots.
She wore Balmain in another, modeling a chic outfit consisting of grey dress pants and a striking red shirt with gold button detail.
In a lengthy post to Instagram on Tuesday to mark the release of the book’s paperback version, Jessica Simpson said she wanted to “rediscover herself through writing the book and putting it” out into the world so people could understand her on a deeper level.
The new version has a revised introduction where Simpson goes into more detail about the sexual abuse she suffered as a child.
Jessica Simpson wrote on Instagram about the responses she has received so far to her book, telling her followers it means “more than you will ever know.”
