Despite the many scandals brewing in the royal family, Queen Elizabeth II took part in a quiet celebration with other royal family members, including the heir to the throne, Prince Charles.
This week, royal fans were both surprised and delighted by a pair of photos released by Buckingham Palace.
The pictures were accompanied by a brief statement explaining that they were taken on Good Friday. The note also explained the photos marked the Easter Holiday weekend.
The statement read: “The Queen and The Prince of Wales enjoy a walk in the grounds of Frogmore House, Windsor. This image is one of two released to mark the Easter weekend.”
The pictures taken in a stunning garden in Frogmore House in Windsor showed Queen Elizabeth with a huge smile on her face as she stood next to her oldest son, Prince Charles.
Dressed for the weather and Easter, Queen Elizabeth opted for a lovely green coat that blended perfectly with nature.
Her Majesty opted for black boots and tied her famous silver hair with what appears to be a cream and blue floral headscarf.
Charles, Prince of Wales, opted for a camel-colored coat and khaki pants in an effort to coordinate with his mother.
His Royal Highness The Duke of Cornwall and the Queen stood in front of a small stone bridge and pond surrounded by trees and plants in full bloom.
The new official pictures of Queen Elizabeth were released after a royal source spoke to PEOPLE magazine and said that behind the smile and brave look on her face, she is now lonely and feels like everything has fallen on her shoulders.
The person familiar with the situation explained that the 94-year-old monarch always had her husband, Prince Philip, 99, by her side to deal with the many family scandals and conflicts throughout the years.
However, the Queen is now alone as she is forced to deal with the outlandish accusations and heavy backlashes that were unleased by Prince Harry and his wife, Meaghan Markle, after their conversation with Oprah Winfrey.
It is being claimed that Queen Elizabeth, who is set to mark 69 years on the throne this year, never imagined that she would have to face “one of the biggest blows to the royal family.”
The royal source revealed: “What she won’t want is family conflict at this stage of her reign.”
The Queen used to rely on her spouse to resolve family issues, but he can no longer do so after his month-long hospital stay.
The insider shared: “She is always head of the country, and Prince Philip was always head of the family. He is not there to be that—so everything is falling on to her shoulders. It must be an incredibly lonely place to be.”
The Queen remains the rock of her family.
