Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, will have their first face-to-face meeting in over a year on Saturday during Prince Philip‘s funeral.
And according to reliable royal sources, Kate Middleton has stepped up to play a pivotal role in fixing the broken relationship between her husband and her brother-in-law.
After Prince Harry took part in the bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview with Meghan Markle, where they spoke about racism in the royal family and claimed that Prince William was trapped, tension runs high between the brothers.
A royal source has revealed that Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, 39, is the key person who will act as a “peacemaker” to guide Prince William and Prince Harry to be on a “unified” front at the somber event.
Kate Middleton wants the brothers to come together for the sake of Queen Elizabeth II, who will need all the love and support of her family as she lays her husband to rest.
The Duchess of Cambridge “will be hoping to soothe tensions” as the brothers meet for the first time since Prince Harry and his family moved to California after stepping down from their royal duties.
The person explained that Kate Middleton has a loving relationship with her siblings and finds the feud between Princess Diana‘s sons upsetting and “sad.”
The insider claimed for Duchess Kate, it is frustrating that they are not on better terms and added: “Being so close to her own siblings, Pippa and James, and having witnessed first-hand the special bond between William and Harry, she has found the whole situation difficult and upsetting.”
The source added that while The Duchess is allergic to conflict and drama, she feels the need to intervene.
The person said: “She is certainly someone who shies away from conflict and will be hoping to soothe the tensions.”
The insider went on to share: “They know it is not about them on Saturday – it is about honoring their grandfather’s memory and supporting their grandmother. I would be extremely surprised if that wasn’t front and center of both their minds. They will be keen to spend time together as a family, in the same time zone for once.”
The person familiar with the situation also stated: “The entire focus is on the Queen. No exceptions. A family unified.”
The revelation comes as Prince Harry arrived in the UK earlier this week and was seen touching down at Heathrow airport before being driven to the royal estate where he is expected to isolate at Frogmore Cottage.
He made the transatlantic trip alone without his wife after the Duchess of Sussex was advised by her doctor not to travel since she is several months pregnant.
The Duke of Sussex will walk alongside his father, Prince Charles, and his older brother, Prince William, on Saturday behind the casket of the Duke of Edinburgh, whose funeral will take place at St George’s Chapel, the same venue Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot almost three years ago.
Due to coronavirus restrictions, there will only be 30 people in attendance at the funeral.
