Brooke Shields shared a photo on her Instagram, relaxing in one of her favorite places… completely naked.
The 55-year-old model and actress has been spending time in recovery in recent months after breaking her right femur at the start of this year, but that did not stop her from marking Earth Day this week with a tranquil photo of herself and the “Naked Tree.”
Holding onto a large tree branch in the middle of a body of water, Brooke Shields wore no clothes for the photo, which is thought to have been taken during a past vacation in the Bahamas.
Her long hair flowed down her back as she looked slightly off to one side while posing with her back to the camera as the sun shone down from semi-cloudy skies.
The stunning actress captioned the post telling her 1.2 million Instagram followers that she was joining National Geographic and sharing one of the places that “matters most to her.”
She then encouraged her fans to join her in celebrating their love for the planet and posting a photo of a spot they care about.
The Blue Lagoon star wrote: “This Earth Day, I’m joining @NatGeo in sharing one of the places on the planet that matters most to me. Celebrate your love for the planet with us by sharing a spot you care about. #ShareYourSpot”
It comes as the Pretty Baby actress is relearning to walk after a freak accident at the gym in January when she was working out in New York.
Brooke Shields fell off a balance board which caused her right femur to break, resulting in two surgeries to try and fix the broken bones.
After being sent home following a three-week hospital stay, she then developed an infection and had to be taken back to the hospital for emergency surgery.
Speaking about the awful incident, Brooke Shields said that she felt everything was “in slow motion when she fell at the gym,” and she started screaming with “sounds [she had] never heard before.”
She explained: “It felt like it was all in slow motion. And then I just started screaming. Sounds came out that I’ve never heard before.”
However, the actress — who has described herself as a “fighter” — is now relearning how to walk and live with her husband, Chris Henchy, and their two daughters — Rowan, 17, and Grier, 15.
