It appears that Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, will be receiving a precious and priceless gift from Queen Elizabeth II that might leave Prince Harry and his spouse, Meghan Markle, fuming.
For several weeks reports have been swirling, claiming that the Cambridges are eyeing a move from Norfolk to Berkshire.
Some speculated that the royal couple wanted to relocate from Norfolk, hoping to find a boarding school for their oldest son, Prince George.
Others claimed that Prince William and his wife were eager to move even deeper in the countryside and be closer to Kate Middleton’s family.
However, a royal expert has revealed that Kate Middleton, the Duke of Cambridge, and their children three young children, George, 8, Charlotte, 6, and three-year-old Louis, will be gifted Windsor Castle by Queen Elizabeth.
It has been revealed that the royal residence at Windsor in the English county of Berkshire, that was once coveted by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, will go to the Cambridges to be closer to Queen Elizabeth.
The Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, also call Kensington Palace and Anmer Hall their homes. Anmer Hall was given to the couple as a wedding gift by Elizabeth II.
Via The Mirror, experts claimed that the “Sussexes, who quit royal duties for good last year, would likely be unhappy if it happened.”
The royal experts claimed that moving to Windsor Castle is a privilege that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle once hoped for. It is unknown if Elizabeth II turned them down before their majestic exit from London for a lavish mansion in California.
A source told the Daily Mail: “Anmer Hall made sense while William was a helicopter pilot in East Anglia, and it was useful for Christmases at Sandringham, but it doesn’t really work anymore. It’s a little too far away for weekends, but Windsor is a perfect compromise. They are eyeing up options in the area.”
Royal correspondence, Katie Nicholl also told Vanity Fair: “William and Kate have been talking to their close friends about leaving Kensington Palace where they feel very overlooked. William and Kate are very seriously considering a move to Windsor, and it has been discussed with the Queen. There are options at Windsor Castle, which is vast, and being close to the Queen, who is 95, makes sense to the family. It will remain their official London base, but they prefer being in the countryside, and the commute to London would be very easy.”
Nicholl, the author of Harry Life Loss and Love, also revealed that the move signaled that Queen Elizabeth is actively having a conversation about the next reign, and the powerful duo is part of that chapter.
She revealed: “Since Prince Philip’s death, the future of the monarchy is a topic of conversation. Plans are being drawn up for the next reign, and the Cambridges making a move to Windsor is one of those plans.”
Some observers say that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still want some of the perks of the royal life.
