Prince William’s Latest Intervention To Protect Queen Elizabeth Will Not Please Meghan Markle

Prince William Meghan Markle Queen Elizabeth Lilibet Christening

It seems that Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, will have to accept that the royal family wants their baby daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to be christened in the privacy of their California mansion.

Lilibet Diana, the second child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, was born in June of 2021, and she has yet to meet her great grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, or any royal family member for that matter.

The baby girl, who carries Queen Elizabeth’s childhood nickname, is supposed to travel to London in the upcoming weeks to spend some time with her relatives.

Prince Harry and his spouse had also devised a plan to have the Queen’s 11th great-grandchild christened in front of her.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have told close friends that they want their daughter to receive a royal christening like her brother.

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened during an intimate service in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle; Queen Elizabeth could not attend due to prior commitments.

While Elizabeth II attended the christenings of Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s two oldest children — Prince George and Princess Charlotte — she missed Prince Louis‘s baptism.

Prince Harry revealed to his pals that he is willing to wait whenever the Queen is available for the religious ceremony to take place in her presence.

According to NBC royal correspondent Neil Sean, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, has made it known that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will not get their wish because the time is not fitting.

Sean claimed: “One of the bigger problems that Meghan really encountered of later is that she wanted her daughter, Lilibet Diana, to be christened in the place she was married alongside her husband, Prince Harry. And then the christening of her firstborn, Archie.”

The expert went on to say that many in the royal family believe that the power couple is pushing for the royal ceremony to happen because they hope to use it as another PR move that will help their brand.

He shared: “But that came to a grinding halt. Both Harry and Meghan were very keen to make that return and make sure that christening happened in front of Her Majesty The Queen. Some people may say they’re just capitalizing on their royal connection, and why not? It’s how they make money now.”

He further claimed that Prince William made it clear that Lilibet’s christening is not happening because he does not think it is a good idea.

The royal commentator stated: “But moving forward, there was one person who basically decided there wasn’t an appetite for this and the person that seemingly is, so far, not willing to kiss and make up with his younger brother. According to a very good source, Prince William was the one who basically said, ‘no, we don’t think this is going to work,’ it wasn’t a particularly good idea.”

It seems unlikely that the power couple will get what they want in this case.
