She appeared on the Off The Vine podcast, where she confessed to going back to her ex-husband and dating for a few months after they filed for divorce.
The Laguna Beach star and the former athlete announced their split in April 2020. The pair had been married for seven years and was together for more than 10.
The former power couple shares three children — sons Camden, 9, and Jaxon, 7, and daughter Saylor, 5.
She began the conversation by saying that while her divorce was “probably the best decision I’ve ever made,” she had a few moments of self-doubts at some point during the process. She rekindled the relationship only to regret it quickly.
She explained: “There have been times over the last 18 months where I’m like, ‘Is this the right decision? Jay and I actually went on a couple of dates — like months and months and months ago.”
Kristin Cavallari said: “I was like … It’s not there for me anymore. The thing with Jay is, we aren’t getting our divorce because of love lost, which made it really challenging because we were crazy about each other.”
She went on to reveal why she decided to end the relationship for good: “I just decided I didn’t want to be in a toxic relationship anymore, and I had to break it off. But that’s made it hard and made me sit here and question it for a few months. But then going back and dating him a little bit made me reaffirm it like, ‘No, I know that I’m making the right decision.'”
She revealed that her children have handled the situation well and added: “I wanted my kids to see me happy… and they’re better off.”
Cavallari recently confessed to being single after having fun with country singer Chase Rice and comedian Jeff Dye.
Cutler stepped out with Cavalarri’s former friend, Jana Kramer.
