Jessica Simpson Shares Heartbreaking Photo And Message As Ex-Husband Nick Lachey Reacts To Her Version Of The Truth

Jessica Simpson Nick Lachey Book Marriage

Nick Lachey is not holding back when it comes to his ex-wife, Jessica Simpson, sharing her truth in her autobiography.

The pair, who were married from 2002 to 2006, gave a glimpse of their tumultuous lives in the reality series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.

Jessica Simpson has penned a deeply personal memoir, Open Book, where she tackled her troubled marriage, failed romances, and her battle with alcoholism.

On Monday, the singer and businesswoman shared an unrecognizable photo taken during an era when she was fighting her addiction.

Hours after Jessica Simpson posted the emotional picture and message, Nick Lachey appeared on a radio show where he discussed his ex-wife’s memoir.

The 98 Degrees singer did not have very kind words for the diva. While appearing on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live on Monday, Nick Lachey said he would never read the book because he had closed that chapter of his life.

The host asked: “Did you ever wind up reading the Jessica Simpson book?” He replied: “You’ll be shocked to hear that I have not. Nor will I ever read that book.”

He took a shot at Simpson by saying that her version of the truth is not the whole story.

Nick Lachey explained: “I obviously knew the book was coming out, but I lived the book. You know what I mean. I know what the truth is, so I don’t need to read it, or read someone’s version of it in a story that I know, that I lived it. No, I never read it.”

Nick Lachey also shared some concerns about Jessica Simpson’s decision to produce and star in a movie/series based on her book.

He stated: “And now there is going to be a fictionalized drama based on her life. I mean, you have to be saying, ‘well, how is this going to go for me.’ And who is going to play me? Nah, you know what man, I am thrilled to be where I am in life. That was 20 years ago.”

Nick Lachey married Vanessa Minnillo in 2011, and the couple shares three children.

Lachey said that he did not waste much of his time thinking about his past life and added: “It’s honestly the last thing on my mind these days unless when someone brings it up. I understand why people want to ask, but it’s just so not a part of my life anymore that it’s not even on my radar. She is doing her thing, and I am doing mine, and that’s how it should be.”

This week, Jessica Simpson unveiled an “unrecognizable” photo of herself taken in 2017, a challenging period of her life.

The movie star wore no makeup and looked like she was bruised by life with a puffy face and sadness in her eyes. She is marking her fourth year of sobriety.

The caption read: “This person in the early morning of Nov 1, 2017, is an unrecognizable version of myself,” the fashion designer explained in the caption. I had so much self-discovery to unlock and explore. I knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self-respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity.”

She continued: “Personally, to do this, I needed to stop drinking alcohol because it kept my mind and heart circling in the same direction, and quite honestly, I was exhausted.”

Simpson has been able to tell her story in a way that appeals to a lot of people.
