While there might be a divide between Prince William and his younger brother, Prince Harry — they seem to agree on one thing — Camilla Parker-Bowles will never get what was owed to their late mother, Princess Diana.
Camilla Parker-Bowles is married to the heir to the throne, Prince Charles. The logic and royal tradition dictate that Parker-Bowles should become “queen consort” when Prince Charles is coronated King of England.
However, that will not be the case for a long list of reasons, including that her poll numbers are low because the English people cannot forgive and forget that she had an affair with Prince Charles while he was married to Princess Diana.
Many Britons made it clear that it would be arrogant and disrespectful of Prince Charles to give that title to his current wife.
However, Prince Charles is determined to fight for his dream of making his wife Queen, and his sons — Prince Harry and Prince William — are fed up with his determination.
When Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 74, Prince Charles, 73, got married in 2005, they decided to remove the coronation ceremony of Queen consort off the table out of respect for the late Princess Diana.
During that time, Prince Charles and his wife issued a statement explaining the decision to the public.
It was revealed that Camilla Parker-Bowles would “use the title HRH the Princess Consort when the Prince of Wales accedes to the throne.”
According to Newsweek, a similar statement announcing the status chosen for Prince Charles’s wife was posted on the royal’s official website that read: “As was explained at the time of their wedding in April 2005, it is intended that The Duchess will be known as HRH The Princess Consort when The Prince of Wales Accedes to The Throne”.
However, in 2018, it was quietly removed. Historian and royal author Robert Lacey explained that the removal of the statement is part of Prince Carles’s massive campaign to rehabilitate his wife and give her the title she thinks she deserves.
However, the royal expert claims that Prince Charles has been campaigning for his spouse to receive the full title of Queen, though.
He went on to say that Prince Harry and Prince William are “sick of the lobbying being carried out by Charles.”
