Tiffany Haddish and Common seem to have different versions of events after the actress said she was “disappointed” in her ex-boyfriend following their split last month.
Speaking to Jason Lee on his podcast Hollywood Unlocked Uncensored, actress Tiffany Haddish admitted she was “disappointed” to hear Common say they split in November because they had busy schedules.
Tiffany Haddish, 42, said this did not align with what he had told her in private, although she did not disclose exactly what the rapper had said to her when they broke up.
She said: “I was disappointed. I was very disappointed. I was like, ‘Oh, OK. ‘Cause that’s not what you told me, but OK.’”
Earlier in December, Common spoke to Jason Lee on the same podcast and described Tiffany Haddish as one of the best people he had ever met in his life.
However, he told the host that he and Haddish’s relationship was prevented from blossoming further by their busy schedules and dedication to their work.
Common, 49, born Lonnie Rashid Lynn, and Tiffany Haddish had been dating for more than a year when they announced they had split last month.
Tiffany Haddish opened up about her feelings after their breakup, saying that she misses her ex-boyfriend “from time to time,” but believes this is the case in any intimate relationship and insisted she is “fine with it.”
She revealed: “I miss him. I miss him from time to time, but that’s with, I think, any intimate relationship that you might have. You miss them. But I’m fine with it. It’s cool.”
Host Jason Lee also made comments on Common’s past relationships, describing him as the “common denominator” when things do not go well.
Among the women, Common has dated are actress Taraji P. Henson and tennis player Serena Williams.
However, Tiffany Haddish said she wishes him “nothing but joy and happiness,” despite noting that he might be the type of person who never settles down with anyone.
The actress shared: “He might be the type of person that never really settles with somebody. Maybe he’s like, you know, like a bee going from flower to flower to flower. I don’t know. I wish him nothing but joy and happiness, you know. He will always be cool.”
She is now being presented with new opportunities, Tiffany Haddish told Jason Lee but did not seem too sure that she would ever date another celebrity.
Haddish concluded by saying that “I would f–k one.” The funnywoman has not lost her sense of repartee.
