Comedian Trevor Noah has decided to make his romance with actress Minka Kelly official in the most surprising way.
For several months rumors have been flying around claiming that the pair was dating but had split up after purchasing a multi-million dollar home together in California.
This week, the host of the Daily Show revealed that not only is he back with the Hollywood star, they have also decided to spend the year-end festivities in his native country of South Africa.
Taking to his official Instagram page, Trevor Noah shared a picture of celebrating his friend, Xolisa Dyeshana‘s birthday in Johannesburg.
The lovely picture features Noah sitting at a long dinner table in a fancy restaurant with many friends waiting to be served their meals.
A closer look at the picture shows that Minka Kelly, with a huge smile, is sitting next to a beaming Trevor Noah.
It seems that the romance has taken a serious turn with the TV host bringing his girlfriend home to meet his family and friends.
Before the picture surfaced, there were speculations that the couple had reconciled and was heading to Africa for the holidays.
Fans took to social media to reveal that they spotted Kelly and Noah on a plane traveling to South Africa.
A source recently confirmed to PEOPLE that the duo started dating in late 2020.
According to the same insider, the romance became serious rather quickly, which led to them investing in a massive mansion together.
However, they eventually split up only to reconnect again. The family friend said at the time they were trying to figure things out and decided to take some distance.
The insider stated: “They break up and get back together all of the time. They do seem to really love each other and each time they get back together, they try their best to make it stick.”
Another reliable source spoke to E! and revealed the reason why they split: “Things are going well between them. They are taking things slowly. They really like each other but needed to take a step back and slow things down.”
In a recent interview, the star revealed that when she falls in love, she gives it her all and added: “I definitely wear my heart on my sleeve. It’s really hard for me to hide my feelings and I try to sometimes… but I love very strongly, and I’m a very emotional person. It gets me in trouble sometimes, but I’d rather love deeply than not at all. I think that’s a really beautiful way to live.”
Kelly has previously had romantic ties to actors Donald Faison, Chris Evans, John Mayer, Jesse Williams, and Derek Jeter.
As for Noah, despite trying hard to keep his private life under wraps, it has been revealed that he dated Dani Gabriel and Jordyn Taylor.
