Congratulations are in order for Jeannie Mai, 43, and her husband, Jeezy, 44, who have announced the birth of their first child.
The Real co-host took to Instagram this week, and she shared an adorable photo taken from her hospital room.
The snap showed the hospital bassinet with the name tag Jenkins. The glass bassinet contains a colorful blanket, but baby Jenkins is not visible.
Jeannie Mai did not reveal the name or the gender of her first child.
Mai penned an emotional message explaining how grateful she is to have a child with Jeezy, whose real name is Wayne Jenkins.
The TV host said: “I asked God for a life of love and happiness. He sent me my family. Baby Jenkins is here ?❤️.”
While the fashion stylist is taking time to share more about her baby with the rest of the world, she was an open book before and during her pregnancy, where she shared intimate details.
The TV personality said on her YouTube channel that she and her spouse began IVF treatments on their wedding day to conceive the child.
However, doctors told her to stop two weeks later because she was already pregnant.
She shared: “The very day of our wedding, March 27, we started our in vitro shots. Went for about two weeks, doing the shots with Jeezy and preparing for it. Of course, if a doctor is calling you after any doctor’s appointment, you start flipping out. I call the doctor, and the doctor is like, ‘Stop taking your shots. You’re pregnant. You guys got pregnant on your own.’ We got pregnant a week after the wedding.”
Jeannie Mai Jenkins also spoke candidly about what led her to motherhood and spending years saying that she was not ready to have a child.
While announcing her pregnancy in the fall of 2021, Mai said that she never thought that her heart would desire a child until she fell in love with Jeezy.
She shared: “You know, I was like, I know exactly what I want, I know exactly what kind of woman I want to be, and I always said, I’d never be a mom. And there’s so many reasons now that are coming to fruition as to why I would have said that then, but I do know that you never say never, and that love can really change you.”
Mai and Jeezy announced their romance in 2018 and were married in March 2021.
While this is Mai’s first child, Jeezy is already a dad of three, thanks to previous relationships.
