Prince Harry Turns Down Prince Charles’s Latest Olive Branch And Queen Elizabeth Might Not Like It

Prince Charles has reportedly invited the Sussexes to stay with him in the UK, as he hopes to meet his granddaughter Lilibet for the first time.

The second child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was born in June last year, but with the family miles away from the British Royal Family in the UK, Prince Charles still has not met Lilibet.

Since they stepped down from their roles as working members of the royal family in 2020, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children have not returned together to the UK.

Prince Harry visited last year for his grandfather, Prince Philip’s funeral in April, but was not joined by Meghan Markle or their 2-year-old son, Archie.

After a series of “good-natured” calls, the Prince of Wales made the offer to Harry and Meghan before Christmas, a source claims.

An insider told the Mirror: “The Prince of Wales has been saddened that he hasn’t had the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren, which he really does miss. He is a fantastic grandfather and loves playing the role immensely, and it’s certainly fair to say he feels there is something missing from his life without the ability to get to know Harry’s children. This is something he is hoping to remedy, which is why he made the gesture for Harry, Meghan, and the children to stay with him if they wanted to, whenever they may come home for a period of time.”

Prince Charles loves to be a grandfather and is “saddened” not to spend time with his grandchildren.

However, Prince Harry has reportedly refused to visit the UK unless he has a high level of security from the Metropolitan Police.

The Duke of Sussex is currently seeking a judicial review into the decision to take away police protection when he stepped down from his role in the Royal Family.

He believes it is too dangerous to visit without bodyguards from Scotland Yard, which has prompted the former head of royal protection Dai Davies to speak out.

Prince Harry should not expect bodyguards, Davies said on Monday, and Scotland Yard is “not available for hire.”

The assessed risk associated with a visit from Prince Harry is low, however, should this change, then the Met Police would be duty-bound to get involved.

Dai Davies pointed out that even when Princess Anne’s protection officer was shot, and the Princess Royal herself was nearly kidnapped, she still did not receive full-time security.

Some observers say the current situation is likely to prevent Harry and his family from returning to the UK in the near future.

It was expected that Harry and Meghan would attend a memorial for Prince Philip in the spring and Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in June.

The Queen was said to be looking forward to being surrounded by her entire family for the big milestone.
