Over the weekend, Kourtney Kardashian and her fiancé, Travis Barker, attended the Grammys and also decided to get married.
Many of their close friends and family members have reacted upon hearing the happy news via social media, including Travis Barker’s ex-wife, Shanna Moakler.
Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler were married in 2004 and divorced in 2008. Barker and Moakler are the parents of two children — daughter Alabama, 16, and son Landon, 18.
Moakler is also mom to Atiana, 23, whom she shares with boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya.
The model and rocker have had a complicated relationship in the past months. However, it seems that it is all water under the bridge now, for she has issued a surprisingly beautiful statement.
In a message released via PEOPLE Magazine, Shanna Moakler said that she was happy for Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker.
She also said that she wishes them a long and wonderful union. Moakler said: “Congratulations to the happy couple. I wish them the best that life has to offer on their journey together.”
Several reliable media outlets have confirmed that the Keeping up with the Kardashians star and the rocker were tipsy after his epic Grammy performance.
According to PEOPLE and TMZ, on Monday, at around 1:30 am, Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian walked into a chapel in Las Vegas. They laid out their conditions to the owner, and the ceremony took place 5 minutes later.
The pair came with their own photographer, security, and marriage license.
They requested to be married by an Elvis impersonator and were seen dancing and celebrating in the parking lot after saying “I do.”
The owner of the chapel spoke to PEOPLE and revealed: “I didn’t know who it was until they pulled up. I advertised as 24-hours, but they wanted to make sure I was still there. They paid, and they requested Elvis Presley, that was mandatory. I called back 5 minutes later and was like, I got an Elvis, and there they were.”
However, a source spoke to Page Six and explained that Kardashian and Barker did not legally get married in Las Vegas. They merely had a ceremony.
The person familiar with the situation claimed “they had a ceremony, but there was nothing legal about it, as they never got a marriage license. They had a ceremony, but on paper, it’s not legal yet.”
The duo will have multiple wedding ceremonies in the near future as they work on having a baby.
