Kris Jenner had nothing but praises for Kim Kardashian‘s boyfriend in a recent interview.
Appearing on ABC, the famous momager gushed over Pete Davidson by saying that he is a sweet guy and confirmed the reports that he makes her daughter happy.
During a sit-down with Robin Roberts, Kris Jenner was asked to share her thoughts on Pete Davidson, and she revealed: “Pete’s great, Pete’s great. He’s a really nice guy.”
However, a source close to the Kardashian/Jenner clan has revealed that while Kris Jenner had always approved of the surprising romance, she also had some minor concerns — the age gap.
Kim Kardashian started dating the Saturday Night Live star about eight months after her bitter and complicated divorce from Kanye West.
It is the romance that no one saw coming. Kris Jenner included. In the Hulu series, The Kardashians, Kris Jenner stated despite being surprised by the relationship, she was supportive because Kim Kardashian was smiling again.
An insider now reveals that Kris Jenner was somewhat worried that the relationship would not make it because of the age difference.
The billionaire TV personality is 41, and the comedian is only 28.
According to the source, the businesswoman was delighted by the way Davidson treated Kim Kardashian but feared that the duo would not be able to sustain the romance in the long run.
The family friend claimed: “He treats Kim so incredibly, but she was having concerns about the couple’s age difference. Kris knows Pete only has good intentions for Kim, but she wasn’t completely convinced he could make it for the long haul.”
However, with time, Kris Jenner, like Kim Kardashian’s sisters, decided she was on board.
Otherwise, she would be seen as a hypocrite. Kris Jenner, 66, embarked on a May-December romance six years ago with Corey Gamble, 41, and they are thriving.
Jenner concluded if she could do it, so could her daughter.
The pal shared: “Kris realizes she may have been wrong and possibly jumped the gun and judged the situation too early before getting to really see their connection grow over time. For her and Corey, there haven’t really been challenges when it comes to their age differences, or even the fact that Corey doesn’t have kids. Corey fits in beautifully with their family, and Kris can see why Kim would think Pete’s a keeper because he does, as well. She is looking at the similarities, and as long as Kim is happy, Kris is on board, and she thinks Pete is fantastic.”
It is still early, but it seems Jenner was wrong.
