Earlier this month, Prince Harry and his spouse, Meghan Markle, made a brief and secret visit to England ahead of the opening ceremony of the 2022 Invictus Games that were held in The Hague.
The pair requested an audience with Queen Elizabeth II. The 96-year-old Monarch accepted to see Prince Harry and his wife under one condition — they had to first have a sit-down with Prince Charles.
It has since been revealed that the trio met at Windsor Castle, and talked for no less than 15 minutes. It has been claimed that Camilla Parker Bowles also attended the awkward meeting.
During the short interaction between Prince Harry and his father, what was said has not been made public.
However, Palace sources claimed that the heir to the throne was not interested in the meeting with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
It is also being claimed that Prince Charles went on to deliver a “slap” to his son after the meeting — there has been no communication with his son since the private gathering.
In a new interview, royal experts Robert Jobson and Dan Wootton decided to weigh in on the meeting, and some bombshell revelations were made.
According to Jobson, Prince Charles “did not want to meet” with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry because he feared that the duo would leak their private conversation to the media or share it during an interview.
The royal pundit had this to say: “I think the meeting with the Prince of Wales was a three-line whip. Charles was not particularly happy about doing it, and he only agreed to do the meeting if nothing was said about him whatsoever on American TV.”
He continued by explaining that Prince Charles is facing a situation of exasperation when it comes to his son and his wife spilling royal secrets for money.
He stated: “Prince Charles has reached the end of his tether. They haven’t been in contact and had they have started blurting about that meeting, that would have been the end of it. He [Harry] turned up late for that meeting. All families have problems, but you don’t go blurting off to your next-door neighbor as soon as you’ve had a meeting. Prince Charles thought, if these conversations are out in public, then I’m not putting up with it, and he’s drinking at the last chance saloon.”
A person with knowledge of the situation spoke to The Mirror and described the meeting as follows, “cordial but slightly awkward.”
Prince Harry and Prince Charles “haven’t had any communication since.”
It is believed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s secret visit to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles might have led to the opportunity of being invited to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
