After all has been said and done, it appears that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s most recent trip to England was not in vain.
Markle and her husband, who Prince William and Kate Middleton snubbed, might have landed an unlikely ally in The Palace.
This week, two separate stories have been published highlighting the positive relationship between Markle, Prince Harry, and Prince Charles.
It was revealed that Prince Charles congratulated Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for keeping their vows and accomplishing their goal of becoming financially independent after stepping down from their royal duties in 2020.
The Sovereign Grant report shows that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have amassed millions of dollars via their book deals, contracts with Netflix, Spotify, and speaking engagements.
The accounts revealed that the Queen, Prince Charles, Kate Middleton, the Cambridge children, and other royals have collectively cost the British taxpayers more than $100 million.
Meanwhile, the Sussexes no longer receive any money from the Prince of Wales.
A source close to Prince Charles said the Duke and Duchess “should be congratulated on achieving their goal in raking in millions from the private sector.”
According to a royal insider, who spoke to PEOPLE Magazine, Prince Charles was delighted to reunite with his son and daughter-in-law.
The pal also claimed that the future king of England got emotional when meeting his granddaughter Lilibet Diana for the first time.
Markle and Prince Harry traveled to London for Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee and took their young children — Archie and Lilibet with them during the trip.
It was the perfect occasion for Lilibet to be introduced to several of her relatives, including Her Majesty, Prince Charles, and his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles.
The person stated that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a marvelous visit with Prince Charles and added: “It was a fantastic visit. The prince was delighted to see his grandson and meet his granddaughter for the first time; it was wonderful to have Harry and Meghan back in Britain.”
Both Bowles and Prince Charles spent some quality time with Archie, and the insider went on to explain: “The Prince and the Duchess [of Cornwall] were absolutely thrilled to see them, as Charles had not seen his grandson Archie for a bit of time.”
The most important and special moment of the trip was Prince Charles finally meeting his granddaughter, Lilibet, for the first time.
The royal source stated: “It was very special to have some time with him. He hadn’t met Lilibet, his granddaughter, and so to meet her for the first time was very emotional — it was a wonderful thing.”
Is this the beginning of a real detente?
