Some details about the April meeting between Prince Harry and his father, Prince Charles, have surfaced according to a royal expert.
Royal commentator Neil Sean claimed to have spoken to some insiders who spilled the frozen tea about the face-à-face. He said that things did not go as planned.
On his way to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games in mid-April, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, made a surprise stop in London.
It was the first time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been in England together since they stepped down from their royal duties in 2020.
Prince Harry confirmed that he met briefly with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and saw his father, Prince Charles.
In an interview on NBC, Prince Harry was delighted to give some details about having tea and chatting with Her Majesty but stayed mum about his time with Prince Charles.
Royal expert Neil Sean explained that according to his sources, Prince Charles cold-shouldered his son after he asked him about the book he was writing.
In the Spring of 2022, Prince Harry was pouring sweat and presumably tears into his work. The prince has signed a $20 million deal for a tell-all book due out before Christmas.
Many royal family members dread the book, with Prince Charles being on top of the list. Prince Charles is fearful that Prince Harry will dig up old dirt about his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, who has a very salacious past, including their torrid affair.
During the meeting, Prince Charles attempted to gather as much information as possible about the memoir and failed.
The expert said: “We know that Prince Charles spent very little time with his son Prince Harry. Charles wanted a one-to-one chat, but that ended up being a very brief meeting.”
Prince Harry, accompanied by Markle, held his own and refused to share details about the tell-all book with his father.
The royal pundit claimed: “According to a very good source, allegedly, Prince Harry refused to detail anything about his forthcoming memoir to Prince Charles. The big sticking point this year, being the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and the 75th year of Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, Charles doesn’t want any negativity. According to that good source, Harry refused to talk about what he put down in his book and how this will pan out. It has been pushed back, and Charles will have to wait and see like the rest of us.”
Prince Charles froze out Prince Harry and cut the meeting short.
He said: “Charles then iced his younger son with a very short meeting. He wanted to have a mature, adult conversation about what the book will contain and whether the royals should be concerned about anything.”
In early June, Prince Harry, Markle, and their children traveled to England to take part in Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
Prince Charles’s top aide revealed to the media that he had an emotional meeting with his granddaughter, Lilibet Diana.
A senior royal source told reporters: “It was fantastic to see them. It was wonderful to have them back in Britain. The prince and the duchess were absolutely thrilled to see them. The prince, of course, hasn’t seen his grandson Archie for a bit of time, and so it was very, very, very special to have some time with him. He hadn’t met Lili, his granddaughter, and so to meet her was very emotional a very, very wonderful thing.”
Many were puzzled by the leak of information about the private family moment. It seems that Prince Charles has drastically changed his losing method/strategy with Prince Harry and Markle — he went from cold to friendly and cuddly.
Royal expert Daniela Elser theorized that, indeed, Prince Charles is beyond scared about the revelations in the tell-all book, which is why his new policy is to appease and “make nice in a very different light” Prince Harry and Markle.
She wrote: “..the fact that Harry’s memoir is set to be published in coming months suddenly casts all of this out-of-character make nice in a very different light. Basically, are they trying to mollify the duke and duchess, a strategy of appeasement via senior aide?”
Only time will tell if Prince Charles succeeded in his mission/strategy of swaying his son with attention and kind words.
