It has been revealed that an odd confrontation took place between Prince Harry and his older brother, Prince William.
According to Tom Bower‘s new book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, soon after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married, situations and tensions rose to the surface.
Rumors about Markle’s diva behavior and rifts with Kate Middleton made headlines on two continents. It was reported that the two ladies did not get along.
Loud chatters claimed that Markle was jealous of Middleton’s status as the future Queen of England and the many privileges she benefited from.
As for Middleton, she was said to be frustrated by Markle’s immense popularity, ability to brilliantly speak her mind, and fashion game.
Around that time, one of the biggest rumors spreading around claimed that Markle made Middleton cry over the bridesmaids’ dresses.
Additionally, Prince Harry felt that the royal family was not being supportive enough to his new wife, who had an endless list of rules and protocols she had to learn after becoming a member of the royal family.
Shortly before Prince Harry and Markle jetted to Australia and New Zealand for their first royal tour as a married couple, Prince Harry apparently confronted Prince William and told him that things had to change.
It is believed that Prince Harry confronted Prince William and requested that his wife be a bit “friendlier” to Markle.
According to Bower, it seemed that during the conversation between the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge, Princess Diana‘s name came up along with words like respect and support.
Bower writes in the bombshell book: “Members of their family, said Harry, were not showing her [Meghan] sufficient support, respect, or friendship. Meghan, Harry believed, should be just as appreciated as their mother [Princess Diana].”
By most accounts, the request was denied because the sisters-in-law, while cordial with each other, never became close friends.
In Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, she had kind words for Middleton but never called her a friend or confidant.
In Bower’s book, it was revealed that Prince Harry was slapped with a harsh reality when Princess Diana’s family failed to see the comparison between Markle and his mother.
The author shared: “Harry assumed that Diana’s family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fiancée. Harry was disappointed. No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his girlfriend.”
Many events have contributed to the power couple’s departure from England.
