Pete Davidson is not handling the breakup from Kim Kardashian really well. The former Saturday Night Live comedian was affected by the reality TV star’s ex-husband, Kanye West‘s latest harassment on social media.
The 28-year-old actor, who is filming a new movie in Australia, has been in “trauma therapy” over the online bullying since April. The rapper, 45, had adopted a low-key profile in recent weeks.
Skete Davidson is dead after 9 months
However, he could not help but celebrate the end of Davidson’s relationship with Kardashian. He rushed to Instagram on Monday to blast a fake New York Times front page with the headline: “Skete Davidson Dead At Age 28.”
“Skete” is a play on a popular Chicago slang “sket,” which some define as a prostitute with no morals.
Kardashian and Davidson have dated for nine months. The former couple is still silent about the breakup, but Davidson is making sure the world knows how he feels.
The father of four also mocked rapper Kid Cudi with the same fake NYT cover via the bottom portion; it read: “Kid Cudi meant to play funeral but fearful of bottle throwers.”
Cudi had a disastrous performance at the Rolling Loud Festival in July. He had replaced West after an abrupt cancellation just days before the big festival. Fans hit Cudi with water bottles, and he left the stage after just four songs.
Kim Kardashian stands up for Pete Davidson
Kim Kardashian was not very happy with West’s latest display. After a few hours, the “Jesus Walks” artist deleted the image. A source close to the SKIMS founder reached out to a media outlet and did not hold back.
They told The Daily Mail: “Kim won’t stand for this. She is demanding that Kanye take the post down, but he won’t. She has been vigorously defending Pete. She’ll never get back together with Kanye over the way he’s treated the people she loves and respects. She has tried incredibly hard to have a good co-parenting situation for the children. She won’t stand for this type of behavior from him.”
Moreover, Kardashian caught some flak after people close to her blamed Davidson’s “immaturity” for the split. The insider is also doing damage control in that area.
They continued: “Kim and Kanye’s divorce is still moving ahead. She thinks that people should not be ok with this post – and Instagram should not allow this type of harassment. Kim has been very sad about the breakup with Pete – it’s not where she thought it would be, and that’s been hard for her. The distance and schedules weighed into their decision, but they do love and respect each other. She will always care for him and have his back.”
Pete Davidson is in trauma therapy over Kanye West’s harassment
Kardashian and her inner circle are right to be worried about all this drama and the effects on Davidson’s mental health. The young lothario has always been open about his issues, so the whole situation could cause a relapse.
An insider spoke to PEOPLE Magazine and revealed: “He has been in trauma therapy in large part [due to Kanye]. The attention and negativity coming from Kanye and his antics is a trigger for [Pete], and he’s had to seek out help.”
The person continued: “He has no regrets for dating Kim and wants it to be made very clear that she’s been nothing but supportive of him throughout their relationship. Moving forward, he just wants to focus on his career.”
The trauma therapy did not play a part in the breakup. Sources close to West believe that Davidson is using his mental condition as a shield, whereas the Yeezy founder, who also deals with mental health challenges, is just seen as a villain.
Many observers say the breakup is an opportunity for West to try to get his “wife” again. However, his latest behavior might have the opposite effect and push Kardashian to stand with Davidson.
